Welcome to Ramkot, Nagarjun-6, Jayanti Gau—a Small Village with a Big Heart
My name is Apsara Karki, and I’ve proudly called this beautiful community home for the past 25 years. I’m a registered trekking and tour guide, and in 2009, I started this volunteer program out of a deep belief in the power of connection, compassion, and cultural exchange.
Growing up with strong values of hospitality and care, I dreamed of creating a space where visitors could not only give but also receive the warmth of Nepali village life. Today, I work alongside a wonderful team who help make this vision a reality:
Tara, our dedicated local teacher, supports volunteers in the classroom.
Manju & Sarita, our kind cook and caretaker, make sure you’re well-fed and feel at home.
Jayanti Gau Ramkot, our community liaison, helps with project coordination and translation.
And of course, our children and families, who are the true heart of everything we do.
We are not a large organization—we are a close-knit community. When you join us, you become part of our extended family.
What You Can Expect:
Comfortable, clean single-room accommodations—simple, cozy, and peaceful
Delicious homemade meals shared with our family. The kitchen is open 24/7—feel free to prepare your favorite Western dishes anytime
Cultural orientation and basic language support to help you feel included and confident
Open, honest communication—we are always here to listen, support, and guide you
Sincere appreciation for your time and presence—every effort you make is valued
Whether you stay for a week or a few months, we’ll do everything we can to make sure you feel safe, welcomed, and inspired.
