PetTeet Park

About us
Pam and Kevin Johnson, true West Australians at heart, have roots deeply embedded in the farming landscapes of Western Australia. After navigating through various careers, we embraced a new chapter in 2008, opting for a "retirement" that led them to a property near Perth, close to our children and grandchildren. We share passion for breeding miniature animals and restoring breed lines to their original size reflects a commitment to practicality. Convinced that smaller animals are more manageable for modest properties, novice farmers, and those not necessarily young or athletically inclined, we embarked on a mission to revolutionize traditional farming practices.

Welcome to PetTeet Park, where we specialise in breeding miniature animals. Our animals are carefully selected and bred for their unique characteristics and qualities. Our selection includes Babydoll Southdown sheep, donkeys, Australian Dwarf goats, Australian Miniature Hereford cattle, Australian Belted Galloway cattle, miniature pigs and pets, horses, Merino sheep and alpacas.

Kevin and Pam are kind people. The living arrangements were nice. I will say I was expecting breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This was not the case, they do a grocery shop once a week and you are responsible for cooking. The core issue that resulted in my early departure was the fact that I was expecting to take care of miniature animals like teacup pigs and little lambs. That was not the case. I was exclusively cleaning chicken coops and collecting eggs and cleaning them and storing them. Don’t expect to have anything to do with miniature animals.

This experience was absolutely a nightmare. The host is inappropriate in any field. I felt very uncomfortable with them and the way they treated me.
I definitely not recommend this host and do not trust the other review as I did.

I find this comment unbelievable. We picked Francesca up from Perth and came back to the farm and she said she was not happy with the shared house situation (we have a shared house for the volunteers so they have to get along with each other) so I took her back to Perth the next morning. I was prepared to move on and am surprised that she is allowed to post without staying

Backpackers live in their own house close to the main home with a shared kitchen and cook for themselves. Groceries are bought weekly. The work involves daily animal care (chickens, sheep, horses, donkeys, alpacas, goats) and can be physically demanding at times, especially in summer. Work hours vary and sometimes exceed 5 hours. Pam, Kevin, and Maddie are very supportive and teach you a lot. I learned practical skills, had time to organize my next steps and gained farm experience.
If you are self-reliant, motivated and need a place to plan your next chapter then you should stay here!

I had such a good time staying at Pet Teet Park! Pam and Kevin are genuine, lovely hosts who want to share their passion for animals, the outdoors and more with you. I was able to be hands-on on the farm, learning new skills everyday. The main responsibilities were feeding and checking on the animals but there is always plenty of other tasks too! I stayed during Canola season (the farm opens to the public at certain times of the year- check out their Instagram) so it was great to meet more local people and get involved with different tasks too. It was easy to extend and I'm so glad I did!

Brilliant experience! Pam and Kevin are kind and hospitable and take you in as one of their own. They appreciate volunteers who genuinely want to learn and contribute towards the farm. With true passion for what they do, they love to share, teach and encourage you to get involved with all aspects.
Hands on experience with animals, freedom to take initiative on projects and a great variety of tasks. Accommodation is cosy, private and spacious.
I’m genuinely sad to leave. But, I’m leaving feeling inspired and with wonderful friends!
(Take any bad reviews with a pinch of salt;)
