Ngāpeke Permaculture
Ngāpeke Permaculture is busy with part-time workers and volunteers for 3 days of the week, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.
The rest of the week you can rest in solitude surounded by nature and wildlife. Help yourself to seasonal fresh fruit and veg from the food-forest and the numerous forest gardens on the property. You also have food from our freezers. You will have full acess to our fully fitted out farm kitchen for cooking and dining.
Ngāpeke Permaculture is rural and a 14 min pedal bike ride to the local shops and post box at the Welcome Bay Village. It also has a 4 Square where you can purchase basic grocery items. It also has a Laundromat, Chemist, Bakery, Sushi Shop, Pizza Shop and a Petrol Station.
A bus stop to Tauranga City is half way between the Welcome Bay Village and Ngāpeke Permaculture.
On days off, walk down to the slow flowing river on the property to take a dip. The cat, the goat, the pig, the sheep, the chooks, the ducks and the horses, and maybe other worldpackers could keep you company on these days.
Or enjoy the Mineral Hotpools (a short bike ride away) or Kaiate Waterfalls (2 and a 1/2 hour trek from the property) or at the tidal beach (half hour walk away). Alternatively, transport to local places of interest can be arranged with us.
Papamoa Hills Cultural Heritage Regional Park is a 10 minute drive away. It is worth taking a walk to the sumit while taking in the breathtaking views along the way. Again, drop off and pick-up can be arranged. Just ask one of our staff.
Mount Maunganui is a beach town looking across the Pacific Ocean and a 25 minute car ride away. It's possible to use public transport catching buses to get there. Alternatively, drop off and pick-up can be arranged. Just ask one of our staff.
Kind regards
Rina
We are a team of 4 kaimahi (staff) and love what we do working with nature and not against nature! None of our kaimahi were "interviewed" for the job, rather they showed up and didn't go away lol. We all have busy lives outside of Ngāpeke Permaculture but it definately is our happy place :-)
