Moulin de Braux

To discover and acquire some experience with organic farming and eating. To be blessed at all times. To get a chance on beautiful Fridays and Sundays to visit on your own (walking, taking the bus or cycling) or be taken to visit by car pretty surrounding places in Burgundy. To be exposed to French language and, if willing, to practice it.

We are a couple who has been family welcoming volunteers - mostly WWOOFers, but also some helpXers and - so far - 7 Worldpackers - for the last 35 years. Luc has been passionate for organic farming since age 18 and still is ; when young he has volunteered to develop organic farming for over 2 years in Burkina Faso. Martine has traveled and lived in England the States and Canada (for 6-7 years all together ) and remained a traveler at heart, but is also into healthy organic eating. She is catholic, goes to church on Sundays, blesses the meals and - if you express interest - will gladly share her faith, take you along to mass with her or visit sanctuaries. We are ALWAYS very happy to have on going visits ( and sometimes help) from our ex-volunteers...

Was a super hard but very rewarding experience. Pros: the hosts are some of the wisest people I’ve met and are very open minded and truly care. They respect your time and are very helpful. Cons/ things to check: check what kind of work u will be doing for the season because it will change, I would just ask them. Also check what facilities are available. It’s hard on your body and tiring so keep that in mind. Overall, if you want to work on a farm in a pretty but very remote area (hard to get to supermarkets or any town), and work hard everyday, it is incredibly rewarding and enjoyable!

Thank you Toni for your truthful and positive appreciation and thank you to the three of you for giving your best in helping in the garden. I am sorry but I would feel dishonnest not to say that we would have appreciated sharing meals with you more often, as well as not saying, we've been quite shocked and disappointed to be left with all the cleaning of the bedroom, toilets and bathroom that you used... He made us think we had been considered as a bed and breakfast which we aren't at all..
