Mellins Online shop

We are a multicultural family. Joel is a meteorologist, naturopath and energy engineer while Anna is a massage therapist and accountant. We have 3 boys.

We live in Boet which is 25 min from Gränna, one of the most touristic places in Sweden. It is situated on the second biggest lake Vättern. From Gränna you can reach and visit the island called Visingsö with a lot of history. Gränna has more than one million tourists every year, mostly in summer.

By choosing to stay with us you'll make a big part in our online shop. We started in 2018 with a backery, a health food store and massage. Later we started the on-line shop. You'll be directly immersed in a family activity with possibility to learn how it works in Sweden, swedish culture and you could learn some swedish too if wish so.

Joel and Anna has started the online organic shop, we produce ourselves nuts butter. We focus on giving the opportunity to our clients to buy healthy, natural, organic, partly locally produces products and on a good price products. You will work in direct contact with us. We appreciate sincerity and direct communication, we have no problems in creating a flexible schedule so that you may have free time to explore the surrounding or to get some free time. Our motto is: "Good food of good quality!".

I stayed three weeks there and the family is caring and have a lot of knowledge about nutrition and religion, which can be really interesting since they are really open to teach you and debate about almost everything. I had a good conexion with most of the volunteers, but don't expext to meet a lot of people, it's more about staying long time with the same persons :)
The only complain I could have it's that the working hours are more than five every day, many days being full day shift, and the free day is only Saturday. But the task are not difficult, they just take a long time. Love the food!

Thank you for your message. I would have appreciated if you told me this personally since I asked ofter if thing were okay and if you needed free. Many times you said that you can help if needed. Some days were all days to work because there were things that needed to be done. You got days off the whole day beside the saturday, ex: visingsö day. You often had half day off. In working hours is not included the eating time or taking dishes because you would have needed to do it anyway if free.

I stayed with Anna and Joel for just over 2 weeks. I helped them with various tasks: gardening, playing and spending time with the children, helping with house tasks (cleaning and organising) and assisted with their online shop.
They are kind and generous people who try and help to make the world a better place by being passionate about people having a healthier lifestyle nutrition wise - which is what their shop is based on.

I had a good time in this family and enjoyed taking care of the children. They were very kind and funny! Anna and Joel are wonderful people who always tried to make me feel comfortable. I have to say that the house really is surrounded only by nature so if you are a person who loves visiting cities or go out at night, this is not a place for you. The schedule is flexible though so you can take the bus during the week and visit cities such as Linkoping, Jonkoping etc. On the week-end you can go to Granna by car with the family too.

My stay at the Mellins family surpassed any expectation I might have had before coming. Words can not express what I have gained from being with Anna, Joel, the kids and the other volunteers. They are the kind of people you rarely meet in your life, so it's best to cherish the time you spend with them. As with any volunteering opportunity, don't come here if you are expecting a vacation. While the work itself might not be the most challenging, every task requires diligence and thoroughness, especially working with the kids. Come with the right attitude and you will have the time of your life.

Our volunteer experience at Mellins was exceptional.
We solved website problems, enjoying flexible schedules. Regular meetings helped fix plugins that caused slowdowns.
We adopted their vegan lifestyle, learning about healthy foods and habits. Her advice improved our understanding of nutrition. Time with her family enriched our routines.
Anna is caring and attentive. Joel is a person of pleasant conversation. The children are delightful.
