Unfortunately I had a horrible experience at Kekai. There were bed bugs in the dorms, mold on the ceilings, and a rat in the kitchen. I let the host know and he did not take any of my concerns seriously. One day we ran out of clean sheets and the owner of the hostel told us to “shake out” the dirty ones and put them back on the beds. Others rate it highly because it’s a fun place to party but sadly it is not a good place to live.

Well, I guess after hosting and sharing great times with so many volunteers over the past 5 years, it was only a matter of time before we had a different experience. It’s sad to see so much hate, especially after we treated you like a sister and always cared for you. We don’t agree with anything you said in this review. Wishing you all the best.

I had an awesome month volunteering at Kekai! It’s truly such a unique and special place. What makes it unforgettable are the amazing people you meet along the way.
The work hours are super fair, giving you plenty of time to explore Taghazout, surf, chill at the beach, and just enjoy the vibe.
I’ll really miss my time here—Kekai has a way of feeling like home. Huge thanks to Adria and Mo for making it all so welcoming. Can’t wait to come back!

I’ve had such an incredible month at Kekai! The workload was really manageable and allowed me to really get to know Taghazout and explore the surrounding area. It is a great team environment and Adri and Mo genuinely want to get to know you and make sure you have an enjoyable time here. The hostel itself is beautiful, with such a great terrace to chill out on and everything you need. I found that Kekai also attracts really great guests, who wanted to actively take part in the hostel community and create a fun atmosphere, which really added to the experience! Thanks so much for having me !

What an amazing experience for my first time volunteering!! Straight off the bat the whole volunteering team was super welcoming, there was good communication between Adria, Mo and our team making it a very comfortable and positive environment. The shift rota is consistent and gives you plenty of time to surf, chill and explore taghazout and even other areas/cities nearby. I would definitely recommend volunteering here to anyone else thinking about it, shukran kekai 🫶

I was really nervous coming to Kekai, because it was my first volunteering experience, but my stay there was absolutely incredible!! The hostel has such a lively atmosphere, and throughout my stay got to meet some truly inspiring people (other volunteers, guests and locals too!) I genuinely had so much fun Taghazout. The work is really fair, you have plenty of time to explore the area in your freetime. I am honestly so happy to have joined the kekai family, and I will miss everyone from the hostel!!
