Il Poggiolo. Rifugio Re_Esistente

Living an experience at Il Poggiolo. Rifugio Re_Esistente means discovering the various hiking itineraries of the Natural park and its wild beauty; participating in the memory of the courage of the italian resistance during the second World War; regenerating common spaces in cultural principals; enjoying healthy food in accordance with the seasonal availability provided by local farmers and producers; developing participated cultural projects. Poggiolo Rifugio Re_Esistente is also a tavern of taste, a restaurant that aims to enhance the local food production and circular economies.

The refuge is a project created by the Association Ozono Factory and the cultural centre Binario 69. The aim is to create a social community and a sustainable environment in the mountains of the Appennino bolognese. We welcome social dreamers, generous artists and tireless hikers and all those who see in Monte Sole a place of memory, peace and hope.

This was the most beautiful travel experience I ever had. The staff was very welcoming, always ready to help and listen to your needs. The work was easy and flexible, I could manage my time freely as I worked online throughout most of my stay. I had opportunities to travel to see the cities around Bologna on my free days. Even though the place is quite far away from public transport stations, the hosts always offered to give a lift. The place is stunning, it's perfect if you like hiking or just relaxing in nature. I'm forever grateful for all the people of Il Poggiolo <33

I loved my time in Poggiolo!! I've met some of the nicest people there and everyone, who worked there, was very welcoming, open and kind and always ready to take you somewhere, be it to the supermarket or a trainstation. I definitely won't forgot that place ever and I can only recommend it to everyone!!
Missing this place already.

It was an amazing experience! Il Poggiolo is a fantastic place with the best people in it! It is quite remote but they’ll take you to the train station if you want to go to Bologna or some other place. The work is simple and it’s essentially cleaning the hostel, common areas and help at the restaurant by dinner time. The working hours are respected. The food is delicious and everyone who works there is so special and thoughtful. I can’t recommend this place enough.The location is mind-blowing! You’ll enjoy every second of it! Mi experiencia en il poggiolo fue increíble, encontré un lugarcito donde siempre querré volver.. el equipo me recibió con los brazos abiertos y fue como una gran familia.. recomiendo mucho esta experiencia, el lugar es increíble, los trabajos son fáciles de resolver, los horarios súper flexibles y las vistas dejan sin aliento.. realmente para ser mi primer voluntariado en europa estoy hiper contenta de haber elegido il poggiolo.. volvería una y mil veces más.. se que aunque me vaya, aquí dejo una familia que me recibirá siempre.. gracias a todos los que hacen il poggiolo, son increíbles!
