I see I do school

Our place is a great opportunity for you to discover real Cambodian life and meet some authentic people while you discovering more about education and gardening.

We are working with 3 teachers : Linna, Leakhana and Shoceat Tra. There are very welcoming and will love to show you around. We also have a gardener, Mike, who is really kind. If you decide to join our team, you will be part of the family and you won't regret it!

Before arriving, Mr. Kim sent my partner Luca and I a list of tasks we could do, but in the end we only did a few things (max 2h/day): watering the plants, pulling the grass, painting the wall. There weren't the right materials for each task. Most of the time, we were bored and didn't do anything. There was no plan to follow or complete. We didn't feel welcomed or respected. All meals were rice and soup, but the family ate in a different place and had different food. The rooms, kitchen, and bathrooms were dirty. The children and volunteers were fantastic; we're happy about that

I spent a week at I See I Do with my partner Sara and we didn't enjoy it. The work is unstructured: no teaching, no garden and animals cared for by other people. For 7 days, lunch and dinner were filled with white rice and a small bowl of salty vegetables. The food, cooked by the wife, who doesn't speak English and never smiled, was left on the table, sometimes without letting us know it was ready. The rooms, kitchen, and bathrooms were dirty and smelly. No soap or toilet paper. Only small shops nearby. Nothing to say about the children, the cutest. I felt more a hindrance than a welcome.

My two weeks with Mr. Kim in I see I do were amazing, I grew so much as a person, the kids are super lovely and his family tries to accommodate us the best way they can. You're going to be leaving as a local in the countryside of Cambodia, so don't expect any luxuries. It is an amazing opportunity to get in touch with the local community, nature and kids.

We really happy to meet and do good work with Gabriel, He done a lot of wonderful work for children and our farm and for new construction school building. You are missed! Please come back to our farm and school when you have time. Thank you for every thing you did for our students. They learned a lot from you. I hope you have great trips ahead. Please come back when you have time.
Best Regards,
Kim

Volunteering at I see I do school was such a wonderful experience. The kids were full of energy, the days were never boring, and I felt really welcomed by everyone. It was fun, a bit chaotic, but super rewarding. Would definitely do it again.

My experience at I See I Do school was rewarding. The children were a pleasure to teach and found a great joy in learning. Time spent with the other volunteers was lovely you are really able to form a nice little family. We taught for a week, there was quite a lack of curriculum or teaching plans which we hoped to have helped by writing a log on the main computer for future volunteers. We tended to work more of a 5-6 hour day 6 days a week but days off are great, Mr Kim arranged a tour of a nearby temple as well as a lake visit. Bring extra money for water and trips! Thank you Mr and Mrs Kim
