Shared a spacious room with another volunteer, but cleanliness was lacking and the door couldn’t be locked, raising safety concerns. Volunteers don’t get a gate remote and must rely on others or use unsafe gaps to enter/exit. Around 10–15 men work on-site, and 8–10 live in shared housing. Cultural exchange is limited—volunteers eat separately and have different meals. There’s a clear division between hosts and volunteers. Ricardo and Nélia are friendly, and Ricardo gives great local tips.

I had such a lovely experience! Ricardo and Nélia were very kind, flexible and accommodating. They made sure I had everything I needed at all times. Ricardo provided many recommendations of things to do and see in the algarve! The work was not challenging and very reasonable. It is very hot so be prepared and bring mosquito spray :) Nélia’s cooking was exceptional and it will be missed! Great volunteer experience with so many beautiful beaches to explore after working and on your days off. Thank you so much Ricardo and Nélia!!

The work was not exhausting, living there was warm and welcoming!
Transportation in that area is not good, but uber and bolt are cheap apps there.
The only thing I found a bit uncomfortable was that the bathroom was inside the house, far from our room.
I recommend this volunteering!

Ricardo and Nelia were such incredible hosts. They were very attentive the entire time so that we didn't lack anything, the working hours were fair and the work is enjoyable.
The place was amazing and we enjoyed so much our free time going to so many beaches around.
