First German Potatoe Hotel
You love Potatoes and Country Side? Come to our Potatoe Hotel an be wellcome :-)
Once a week we organize a German teacher for your German lessons.
We have a whole house especially for our volunteers. You stay in hotel rooms with multiple beds and get free food and drink in our restaurant. Vegetarian food is not a problem, we have a lot of potatoes ;-)
Our potato hotel has been around for over 30 years. Potato fans from all over the world come to us. Our potato hotel family welcomes you and takes you into our team.

Minha experiência foi incrível, os quartos e camas são excelentes. A comida pra mim foi maravilhosa! O horário de trabalho é seguido certinho. Trabalhei nas 3 modalidades que existe no hotel, primeiro como Hausmaister, onde tu faz a manutenção do hotel, é um ótimo trabalho, pois tem dias que é bem tranquilo, sempre começa as 9am. Já o housekeeping não é difícil, mas tem que ser atento aos detalhes e rápido, pois tem bastante trabalho!! As vezes ganha gorjeta, e começa as 6 geralmente. Na cozinha a noite é fácil, mas tem que ser rápido! Começa às 15h, sempre ganha gorjeta. Wir lieben Kartoffel

I had a great time volunteering at Kartoffel Hotel. Olaf and the team were incredibly kind and welcoming, making me feel right at home from the start. I got the chance to try a variety of tasks and was trusted with real responsibilities, which boosted my confidence.
The environment is beautiful, the nature, fresh air, and beautiful scenery make it the perfect place to unwind and disconnect. The food was delicious and healthy, the working hours were always respected, and the overall energy of the place is so vibrant and positive.
I highly recommend this experience!

Overall, I had a very positive experience! Everyone was very welcoming and inviting. A couple small issues I experienced included internet connectivity and workload. The wifi connection was sometimes good, but there were many times where I couldn't connect to the wifi at all or nothing would load. Overall, the connection was okay. It also really depends on the location whether the wifi is good or not. My second issue was the workload when working in housekeeping. It often felt like there were endless tasks and not enough people to help. These issues were small and I'd definitely go back!

My experience was good overall. I worked with housekeeping most of the time (it can be really tiring and stressful sometimes, be aware!), but I also did other tasks when asked (bring pants + shoes that can get dirty + bug spray just in case). The working hours were respected, and they provide good food and accomodation. I had a private room at first and then shared the room with another girl. The wifi was terrible most of the time, but a few days before I left they fixed it. They were flexible when I asked to change my schedule in advance. Place is amazing to relax, but there's not much to do.

I wouldn’t recommend it as a volunteering experience, but it could be okay as a hospitality internship if you already speak some German. Also, be aware that if you’re a man, you’ll be sharing a house (while all girls get private rooms) and doing physical work in the garden. That said, I made great friends among the volunteers and some of the staff. The surrounding area is beautiful, perfect for biking and hiking, and decently connected by public transport, which makes it easy to travel on your days off.
