Erlenhof

If you love animals, nature, and peaceful countryside life, this is the right place for you. 🐴🌻 Our farm offers the chance to slow down, breathe fresh air, and enjoy the simple beauty of rural Germany. Every day is different — sometimes working with animals, sometimes gardening or helping with small projects around the property. Above all, we are looking for helpers who have experience with horses and can assist us in training young horses.
We prefer helpers, who are able to stay for four weeks or longer.
You’ll get hands-on experience with farm life, meet friendly dogs, and spend time surrounded by green fields and open skies. It’s a place where you can learn, relax, and enjoy the quiet rhythm of nature.

I live on the farm year-round with my animals — dogs, horses, and others who are part of the family. 🐕🐎 The atmosphere here is friendly and respectful; I believe in open communication, kindness, and treating everyone with fairness. Volunteers are welcome to feel at home. You’ll have your own space, time to explore, and the freedom to enjoy the countryside. We share meals, stories, and laughter, and I’m always happy to teach or learn something new from my guests. 🌻 To ensure the physical well-being of our helpers, we mainly offer food from organic farms. We use lots of vegetables (from Demeter) to prepare tasty salads and hot meals for the evening. Of course, there is also a variety of options for breakfast.

I would recommend it to people who have done it before or are in pretty good shape.
Ulla would usually cook dinner and provide breakfast
Despite showing three meals in the offer, There werent almost any options for lunch except for some times where she would make a salad, but as i explained in person, doesnt feel like enough after hard work. We had a separate section in the fridge for volunteers but no food for us to cook for ourselves, which we were also not allowed to do, we couldnt use pans or the stove which was very limiting

Ulla respondido

I would like to comment on some of Clara's statements in her review, as they are not entirely accurate.
We offer three meals a day. Breakfast offers a wide range of options, in consultation with the helpers. Every (!) lunchtime, there is a freshly prepared salad with various vegetables, accompanied by fruit and, and of course, various cheeses and sausages, as well as different types of bread. In the evening, there is always a hot, freshly prepared meal.

The host is very welcoming and accomadating, always taking care of you especially with the meals. The location is great if you would like to be around horses and dogs. Similarly, the work is based around horse and farm stuff, so can be tough but again depends what you like. The hours are flexible and fair most of the time. The living accomadations are also great. Overall would definitely recommend if this is the kind of experience you're looking for.
