Elounge English Cafe

Our priority is to provide local Koreans the exciting opportunity to practice English and exchange culture with volunteers from all over the world! This program not only enables Koreans to use English in an authentic context and in conversation, it also builds bonds and friendships. Getting to know the local people in a new city can create amazing and life-changing experiences and memories and there is no better place to do this than Elounge! Feel free to apply! This exchange program's main purpose is to help local Koreans having opportunities in practicing their English speaking skills. We will provide a hostel dormitory style accommodation close to our cafe. (15~20 minutes walking distance) You will be sharing the room with fellow volunteers and we have 2 bedrooms with bunk beds, one big living room, toilet and kitchen. Free wifi and utensils for cooking are also provided. Things we provide with accommodation: Free Wi-fi (both at the cafe and dorm) Toilet Shower Washing machine Bed/bedsheets/pillows Other simple living utilities

As you can imagine, speaking english with Korean people is a lot of pleasure, learning about Korea, meeting a lot of new potential friends, sharing your adventures or listening to their is really great!
the customers at Elounge are super friendly and really cool to talk with, the accommodation is super spatious and the location of both accommodation and cafe is amazing! one of the best place to stay in Seoul as a tourist in my opinion.
I really recommend this place to people that feel comfortable to have/hold a conversation in english with people that are learning!

Elounge has been a really great experience for me. First the apartment is in an amazing location, you're so close to so many things, and while many people live there at the same time, it never felt too crowded and it's set up and organised really well. Working at elounge was so much fun, I met some really great people and I was really able to learn about Korean culture from locals.
I'm already planning to come back!

I had a great time at Elounge. The work is fun and easy, and I met so many amazing people, both locals and international. It’s a great opportunity to interact with local people, while also exploring the fantastic city Seoul is :)
The house is spacious and modern (much better than I expected). There’s a couch, tv, fully equipped kitchen and even a rooftop! But be aware that you’ll be living with up to 11 people - I was worried about this but tbh it was totally fine since people have different schedules and routines. It never felt crowded.
I’m very grateful for the 5 weeks I spent here ❤️

Personally, I really enjoyed this experience. This was mainly due to all the other volunteers and the locals I met. I really got the chance to get to know the Korean culture and shared many experiences with others. Do not expect a lot of input from management, you will mainly just be with the other volunteers and do your task at the language cafe, but for me it didn't matter. I had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend for others!
