Eko Patagonia

MPORTANT: HIGHLY REMOTE!
The distances between one attraction and another are very far. The lake is very remote and is at the bottom of a big hill about a mile long to the top. Also, from the airport BBA to Coyhaique city is approximately 1 hour. From Coyhaique to Eko is 35minutes of pavement and 15 minutes on a rough gravel road. From Eko to some of the grand attractions in the area can be 2 hours or more. When you are in the lake it’s beautiful, peaceful and isolated. There are **no food or transportation services close by** and those which are 12km away, don’t work normal hours or are not reliable, and close frequently for no reason.

Fantastic experience at Eko Patagonia! David, the owner, was so welcoming and really treated us like we were one of the lodge guests.
Work we did: painted a building, re-organized a building and storage area, built a path to one of the cabins, made food, helped in organising one of the cabins.
Plenty of off time - we were taken into town and went to see a local Expo, went on walks and swam in the lake.
We were introduced to some local people and get to experience a bit of the local culture, which was great.

It means a lot to hear about your time with us at the lake. The path you built to the cabin creates exactly the kind of connection we hope for - both literal and figurative. Those shared meals and quiet moments swimming in the lake often become the memories that stay longest.
Thank you for rolling up your sleeves alongside us - reorganizing spaces and painting doesn't just help physically, it brings new energy that guests feel when they arrive.

Startup adventure travel operation in a gorgeous setting. Simple daily chores (washing, cleaning, light work) shouldered with plenty of time for hiking and local contact. Settling is very comfortable and beautiful.

Gorgeous location, remote lake at the foot of beautiful mountains, with amazing hikes directly accessible and drives to amazing waterfalls and rivers and glaciers and mountains. We had a car, which made it even easier, but Diego and David provide transportation for the world Packer workers. Since the lodge is not yet open for guest, we stayed in one of the houses, and it was truly amazing. Incredible views.

This location is incredibly gorgeous! We had a car which made it easier to go visit nearby sites. However, Diego has a 4 wheel drive, and is more than willing to show people around. The Eko Patagonia lodge is not yet open to guests, so we stayed in one of the cabins. They are beautiful!
Diego was out of town for most of our stay, but David the owner, was our main host and he is awesome! He introduced us to neighbors and many friends. We felt truly immersed with the Aysén people and culture. We felt like collaborators with David and he asked for our input on many decisions. Highly recommend
