I really enjoyed my stay here! As a pre veterinary student I enjoyed being able to work on my tasks and help rescue dogs. Everything was great and welcoming! It allowed me to choose a bit what I wanted to do each day if I wanted to do a deep dive or a bit more of a calm day. I definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to help a shelter.

This volunteering Experience was amazing!
All the dogs are friendly and in need of love which makes you fall in love with them.
The work is simple and easy and leaves a lot of time to spend with the dogs in between & after work.The host helped organize a bike and a pick up from the bus station and when I decided to stay longer it was no issue.I stayed 13 day in total and everyday was just worth it .To see how even the scared dogs get acclimatised to you over time was fullfiling.I also took some of the dogs to to the beach and learned how to ride the saleng.I recommend this for all dog lovers:)

I stayed at the dog shelter with a friend and we had an amazing time! Taking care of the dogs is such a fulfilling experience and you get so much love from them. If I could I would’ve adopted one because it breaks your heart to say goodbye! Do notice that the staff you will be working with don’t speak English, so if you’re the only volunteer there, it will get a bit lonely. But overall a great experience!

Volunteering at Dog Rescue Maephim Foundation was an amazing experience. The foundation does absolutely incredible work, providing shelter, food and medicine to over 300 dogs daily as well as driving around the town providing food to street dogs every night.

The work consisted of helping with feeding the dogs, picking up dog poo, sweeping the main area, and occasionally washing or brushing the dogs. It was relatively simple, but in the heat it was really hard work. However, the workers and owner were patient with me, allowing frequent breaks and plenty of time to cuddle with the dogs.
