Well, this place involves everything from house maintenance to heavy manual labor, so it’s best suited for someone in strong physical condition.
Gwen often lacks patience when explaining tasks and can be disrespectful during work, but she can be pleasant outside of it. She fulfills the meal agreement. The dogs and horse are lovely, and you’ll have a spacious, comfortable private room. The location is very isolated, 1 hour from the nearest city and a 20 minute walk to the supermarket.
Personally, not the kind of experience I usually expect as a volunteer.

Gwendoline es una persona amable que le gusta hablar y brinda las comidas acordadas y una habitación cómoda, sin embargo, a la hora de trabajar es poco paciente, y sus tratos no son de lo mejor, rozando la falta de respeto, y controlando si haces dos minutos de menos pero nunca si haces horas de más.
Nada le impide recibir voluntarios para hacer los trabajos que hacen falta en su casa, aunque se trate de mano de obra pesada y requieran de experiencia, sin embargo, no es lo que uno espera al realizar un voluntariado.
Es una buena persona y seguimos en contacto.

I had a wonderful experience. Gwen is super friendly.
My English is basic, and I had some difficulties with communication, but she helped me learn new words several times. The room is comfortable, and I recommend it to anyone who wants to stay in a quiet place and spend time outdoors, as it is far from the city. Even though I had to move my trip up a bit earlier than planned, I really enjoyed my time there. I loved the dogs, the cat, and the horse! Gwen always made sure to provide us with well-prepared meals.she is a great cook. Gwen, thank you for everything.🙌👏👏🐾🐈🐶🐎🐾🍃🍀🌻🙌

This was my first volunteering experience and I couldn't have had a better opportunity! Gwen is a kind, receptive and super communicative person. We became friends in the first few days. The house is cozy, the room excellent and Gwen is an excellent cook! If you like animals, you will do well in the house, as it has 3 incredible dogs, a beautiful kitten and a very kind horse. The village is remote, so my advice is to think about enjoying nature and the surroundings on your days off, as transportation is difficult to other cities. Thank you Gwen, for the excellent experience at Gedney Hill!
