I had an incredible experience, living with a very caring and attentive family in their homestay. I never went hungry, traditional dishes, snacks, fruits, special to the home! I explored the amazing mountains, waterfalls, beaches and rice fields! I really lived like a local here, going to the gym each morning with my host, local markets, camping, family members homes for meals, family parties, multiple weddings, so many experiences that a tourist would never encounter. The English teaching was very relaxed and flexible, the kids were eager and enthusiastic. An amazing community of people!

This was a truly a life changing experience. You are treated like family and u live amoungst locals. U meet international travellers with all kinds of stories. I learned a lot here and I would come back to visit. I want to thank Mr. Ahyak, Pat and his family, and everyone I met along the way. The teaching hours were very reasonable but u need to prepare ahead of time. The only thing I would say is to talk to host to arrange u a ride there and back because being in the harbour alone is not easy. 10/10 recommend

This volunteer was truly my favourite I ever did!! You get totally into the local life and experience so many new things every day. The work was very easy only about 2h a day and made really fun. Ahyak is truly a great host and cares so much for the volunteers. We gathered most of the nights together and just played games, sang or just enjoyed our time. My „hostfamily“ was also the best and I even had my own bungalow. I truly hope I can come back one day. Thank you:))

We've been here for a week, but it felt like a lifetime! We were so welcomed by Pad and his family, joining them for iftar and getting an insight in their lives. Teaching English was very nice, only two hours a day and the students were really kind! They also showed us around the city and we had such a good time with everyone. The kindness from everyone was amazing ❤️ Also a shoutout to Ahyak, he's a very interesting person that puts a lot of effort and passion into the community. Inspiring to see!!!

My experience at the home was absolutely unforgettable. I was received with warmth and kindness that made me feel like part of the family from the very beginning. I had the opportunity to meet wonderful people and participate in various activities in the city. I also had the chance to teach English classes and the students welcomed me with enthusiasm, we even shared moments outside of class hours. It's definitely a space that I highly recommend. I hope to return someday and relive the beautiful memories and warmth of the people I shared these two weeks with.

These 3 weeks with Ahyak's family were truly rewarding. In fact, I was supposed to stay only 2 weeks at the beginning but I extended my stay to stay with them. I was able to meet so many interesting people and to learn so much about Indonesian culture. I have worked in a restaurant to help the staff speak English, I felt welcomed and respected. On my days off i was able to visit the island a little bit, it's truly a paradise there. It feels like I have a family in the home now so thank you so much for these past weeks 🤗✨️

Applied for 2 weeks of farming. Only on my day of arrival, the host Ahyak told me that they don't need farming volunteer but English teaching. It turned to be a not very pleasant experience. Ahyak and his the home arrange after work activities for volunteers as it is a community without too many international travelers. But during the very first group dinner I joined, the president of the home Mr Azis talked a lot about politics and asked me many times why Chinese don't speak English.
