I absolutely loved my experience. Yukio san and all the staff at the hostel are welcoming, respectful and kind. The tasks were clearly explained. I could ask as many questions as needed to make sure I did it right. The cleaning hours were always respected and sometimes, we even finished earlier! Yukio san made sure that I was confortable in my new environment. When I felt sick during a shift, they let me rest and made sure I was feeling better afterwards. I couldn't have asked for a better experience! Thank you to Yukio san and the staff for the amazing experience, I miss you all.

The Ks Houses know how to take care of travelers, the work is easy and always done in a team effort. You are taken care of if you bring up problems illness and so on. Even though the work is easy and not too much it can get very repetitive, it is in every traveler's best interest to motivate themselves to interact with the local community. The Team in the hostel is very helpful and will try to connect you however they can. For volunteering with Ks houses one should focus on how to spend their time outside working hours, because during working hours you are in good hands!

We stayed at the hostel for one month and had an amazing time! While Itō is a very quiet city with not much going on, Yukio and the whole team were lovely and made us feel at home. The working hours (11-3pm) were always respected and we often finished early. The whole house is an amazing traditional building and just 5 min from the beach. We are very grateful for our time there and hope to be back one day!

I was here with a friend and everything was better than we could have imagined. Everyone working here is so nice and we felt so welcomed. The guesthouse is absolutely beautiful and you have everything you need in the surrounding area. Ito as well is very nice, a quiet place but you can do hiking or relax at the beach or go to the surrounding cities. All in all I would really recommend coming here!!

Staying at the hostel was one of my favorites experiences since I've been in Japan, the place is really well maintain even though it has 100 years, the staff are really friendly and nice, the manager took me on a trip and two other employees around Izu peninsula. Also I could use the hostel anytime. Ito city is a small, mellow, nice place, Ito people are really nice with foreigners. Highly recommend this place I didn't regret any day staying in here.

Thank you for letting me and Selina stay with you! My time at the hostel was amazing! If you want to experience Japanese traditions and also work here as a helper, then this is the perfect place. You always feel at home, since it's a very cozy hostel. Work wasn't that hard and the other staff members were very nice and helpful. Only on hot days work can be a bit exhausting but you get used to it. If you're lucky you can also join workshops like Japanese dancing classes or a tea ceremony to learn more about the Japanese culture. Thank you for this beautiful time!

Working and living at the hostel was just awesome. The hostel is beautiful! The place has a traditional japanese culture vibe, but at the same time is super laid back and cool. The staff team is the best, they're very welcoming and make you feel at home. The work is easy, but requires dedication - if you are willing to, you can learn a lot about japanese work ethics and culture along the way. I stayed at the hostel for one month and was heartbroken when I left, wishing I could stay longer. Definetly the best hostel I've ever been to and a place I hope to be back to soon! Lots of love ❤️

The most amazing, cozy, welcoming, beautiful place I have ever worked in. Coming back as full time staff I loved it so much. Onsens, staff that makes you feel like family, beautiful Japanese countryside, the sea, the mountains. Job is not bad, people respect each other, guests are kind, many friends made, many more to meet. Best hostel of my life. Hands down, I felt like I was in the bathhouse from spirited away. I consider this place one of my homes in this world.
