The guest house is a place I'd definitely love to return to. Surrounded by beautiful nature, small villages and trails, it's perfect for those who love peace and the outdoors. The work was well-organised and straightforward, and while sharing a room with so many people was tough at first, you just get used to it. What really made it special were the people. They were incredibly supportive and helped me out when I had a few issues and worked out with me to find solutions. It's also a great place to meet other travelers, making the stay even more fun.

This was an experience I'll remember forever. If you're thinking on doing your first volunteering experience at the guest house do it, you are gonna feel at home. They are the sweetest and kindest people you'll ever meet,the work is not hard at all and if you don't know how to do something, don't worry they'll teach you with much pleasure and patience. the guest house is a small village in the middle of nature, there are many torii, shrines & other beautiful things to see in the nearby towns but also in the woods, just go wandering and you'll find magic. Thank you so much again, see you again in the future!

A wonderful experience. The team was amazing. I had a great time in a beautiful place, very calm and relaxing for the mind. There's almost nothing around, which encourages you to rest and enjoy the surroundings. If you like being away from the hustle and bustle of the city and taking a moment to breathe, this is perfect for you. Thanks to Naosan and the other members who are always attentive.

I've absolutely loved my time at the guest house! The staff are kind and respectful, the work is very fair, and the setting is gorgeous. It's low-key. So if you don't like swimming in the river, sitting in the hot springs, reading books, and walking in nature then this might not be for you. But if you're looking for a peaceful setting with lovely people, then I wouldn't miss the chance to stay here. I'd absolutely come back. Thank you to everyone there for making my time so memorable!

I have only positive things to say about my stay here. The whole atmosphere is very familiar and I have felt comfortable and welcomed from start to end. The staff is awesome, the working hours are more than reasonable and I have never been unfairly treated or anything like that. The place itself is a nice guesthouse, the onsen is a big plus and the surrounding valleys, rivers, towns and mountains make it really special. I met a lot of interesting people and there was also a lot of opportunities to experience cultural events in the area, together with the other staff. 100% recommended.

Nao-san was super welcoming and I feel that I have made a new home! Daily cleaning wasn't difficult and there is no better feeling by being done by just after lunch to refresh yourself with an onsen all to yourself! I spent my free time hiking, swimming in rivers, bicycle riding, touring nearby towns, cooking & baking, hanging with other volunteers and joking some local summer festivals/events. I never ran out of things to do but zoning out in the onsen or doing nothing was a luxurious pastime in such a peaceful atmosphere surrounded by the most beautiful nature. Thank you Nao-san ☻

I feel extremely lucky to have been able to stay 7 weeks at the guest house. I was very well received by Nao-san and the whole team and felt at ease from the moment I arrived. The hostel is beautiful, spacious, clean and has onsen that I was able to go to daily. The workload was not too heavy and everyone helped each other out on busy days. I loved being in this remoted place surrounded by such beautiful nature and the sacred hiking trails of the guest house Kodo. The balance between the peace and quiet of the area and the moments of exchange with guests in the evening was perfect for me. Thank you 🙏🏻

I stayed at the guest house for a month from mid June- mid July. I was instantly welcomed by Naohiro, the staff and other volunteers and made to feel at home. The guesthouse is in a small town on the guest house Kodo trail and every night there are travellers to connect with. Note that the closest grocery shop takes 40mins to hike to or 25mins to cycle to but honestly that's part of the fun and you can reward yourself with a tasty choux when you get there. The work is reasonable, well explained and you will always have help on busy days. I highly recommend you come for a stay!

I had a great time at this hostel. All of the Staff members are very very kind and always helps you if you have any problems. the guest house onsen is a place with a lot of nature and it's very beautiful. But you have to be aware that there is nothing else than nature. So if you are looking for a city live, this place might not be what you are looking for.

I can definitely recommend the guest house Onsen, very friendly staff and a very nice atmosphere with a very nice accommodation where you can even have an Onsen all to yourself. The surroundings are also beautiful, and you can experience a lot of nature.
