Volunteering at the shelter was one of the most rewarding things I have done in my travels so far. I fell in love with each and every dog, it was so nice to get to know each one and their individual stories and personalities. I also felt that volunteering here really contributed to something and made a difference to these dogs, which is one of the many reasons I chose to extend my stay here. It can be emotionally and physically tough at times, but the love, cuddles and kisses you get back from the dogs makes it all worth it. I even got to see a dog take his first steps in a wheelchair!

This experience was heartwarming and also heartbreaking. Each of the dogs went through something atrocious to end up in the care of the shelter. But with the love and dedication of everyone there, they are living in a safe environment and receiving quality care while they wait to find forever homes. As volunteers, we each play a very important role in keeping the shelter operational and functioning at a high level. I encourage anyone who loves dogs and isn't afraid of a little work to go to the shelter and help to give the dogs the love they deserve.

I really loved the experience at the dog shelter. The dogs are soo nice and cute and nothing to be scared of. The shelter is in a quit area with friendly locals, but there are still some good cafes and markets around. There is a common area where you can chill and play games with the other volunteers and you can go to a bar every Friday. Sometimes they gave us fruits and nuts for free which was really nice. The accommodation is nothing fancy. I recommend volunteering at Muttland, because every help counts and it was much fun working with the dogs.

This was the second time I volunteered at the shelter, and it was one of the most heartwarming and rewarding experiences I've ever had. I had the unique opportunity not only to work closely with the dogs every day, but also to support and guide an amazing team of fellow volunteers. All of the dogs are incredibly sweet, and it was impossible not to fall in love over and over again. I left with a full heart and fur on every piece of clothing I brought. If you're an animal lover looking for a way to give back, this experience is something you'll carry with you forever 🐾❤️

The shelter was an awesome experience, if you love dogs I would definitely come here as all the doggies here deserve so much love!! It was so fulfilling to be able to put in the time to help them, while also meeting some amazing people. I Enjoyed the area it was in with a 15 minute drive to gyms and the beach and some places with really good food.

Had such a good time at the shelter! super welcoming and friendly environment, with the cutest dogs!! nice location too- super peaceful, 10 minutes from beach and cute cafes/bars! if you love dogs, this is the perfect stay ☺️

I really enjoyed my stay at the shelter! Everyone was friendly and welcoming and I felt comfortable quickly. I volunteered for two weeks and it was a good amount, the location is more remote so its a bit harder to go places before/after work, but possible to go to the beach for example on your day off, which was really nice. I loved every one of the dogs and I'll miss them so much, I would return in the future to care for them some more! The facilities are good, with comfortable double rooms and outdoor en suite toilet. Jazmin really cares about the dogs a lot and it's reflected in their care :)

The shelter was an incredibly rewarding experience, i loved my time there!! Jazmin works incredibly hard to maintain the place alongside her great work with VetVan. I fell in love with every single dog as well as made some amazing friends! A few quick FYIs, squat toilets in the bathrooms. the shelter is fairly remote so taxis & grabs are harder to get hold of but not impossible. Hard work is required for these pups! So expect some tiring, hot days but the hardest part is definitely saying goodbye! I've left a little piece of my heart with each dog. I hope to return one day soon :)

I had a really great time at the shelter! I enjoyed meeting all of the dogs and working together with other volunteers each day. It felt really rewarding to care for the dogs. You will be extremely looked after here! - Just to any future volunteers please be aware that the shelter is very remote and it's extremely difficult to connect to bolt/grab. If you're wanting to explore on your days off you will struggle to do so.
