Help in our family farm and enjoy a peaceful time in the nature

I had a very good time at the farm. I learned a lot and was able to work on many different tasks, which made it not feel boring. The family is super nice, welcoming and easy to talk to. Not to forget the nature is amazing. I would recommend this job! But keep in mind that besides beautiful hikes nearby, there is not much to do in free time. You will live separate from the host and it could definitely get boring if you can't keep yourself busy or have good company. I was lucky, because one of the other volunteers had a car so we could see quite a lot from the area. Thank you fugelstein:))

The whole family is kind, polite, respectful, generous, and open-minded. Moreover, I got to know a lot about Norwegian culture. The tasks were always varied, and lunch was usually cooked by the volunteers — I have to admit that my cooking skills have improved significantly. The farm is located in the countryside, surrounded by breathtaking nature and fjords. The volunteers share their own house, which is not the cleanest — but for me, it was perfect! Thank you, Generosa and Jon Anders, for this unforgettable and amazing experience. I will miss eating lunch together and having a nice chat!

I spent a very nice month with Generosa and Jon Anders. The farm is remote but the landscapes are wonderful: you are surrounded by fjords, you can take some walks in the forest, fishing, go mushrooming or reach some very beautiful lakes. It was a wonderful experience, the tasks were easy, almost every day different: labeling juice bottles, tying apple trees, making jellies, picking apples, cooking and working hours were always respected. We were able to taste both the juices and the jellies and Generosa cooked us some typical Norwegian dishes and sometimes took us around the area after work:)

It was an amazing experience, the whole family are lovely people who make you feel very welcome. If you love nature you won't get bored, there is a lot to explore! The tasks are quite easy and they teach you about their apples.

We felt totally at home with Generosa, Jon anders, Arnfinn and Gullborg. The whole family was lovely and the property was beautiful. Think of this more of a retreat than volunteering. Learning about nature and apple juice/jelly/cider production was so neat. Very wholesome experience, would totally recommend. As others have stated, there's no way to leave the farm unless you walk to the near by villages (no amenities) or ask someone for a ride. We stayed pretty close to the farm and loved it, but if you don't like nature you may feel isolated. Overall great experience and we miss them!

We've just finished this incredible experience! It consisted on helping the family in some tasks such as painting, taking care of apple trees, etc. The surroundings are just amazing, placed in the middle of Norwegian fjords, mountains and wild nature. It is far from main cities and poor connections. But not a problem at all if you like nature. The whole family are just so nice people, we felt really comfortable. Thanks to Generosa and Jon anders, wish you the best. And special mention to Gullborg for helping us and being so nice. First time using Worldpackers and it's so worth it ☺️

Attracted by the incredible surroundings it is a piece of paradise around here but I got disappointed by how little that experience immerse you in the local culture. In my opinion this is one of the main goals of volunteering abroad. You live in your own place, outside of lunch (that you cook) and occasional trips there is no much time spent with Generosa and Jon Anders. Note that if you come during holidays you may be asked to look after the kids (should be added to the missions) Still a great experience, amazing surroundings, meeting other travellers, learning interesting things about trees

Nice experience overall:) the family is nice and welcoming, so thank you!! it's a perfect experience to connect with nature, otherwise the connections with the outside world are not existent although sometimes the family is willing to bring you somewhere:) The work is easy and varies often and the hours of work are respected. It was interesting to get some insights about the world of apples and their products. The accommodation as well is comfty. If I would recommend something to improve that would be maybe the organisation of the grocery list.

The time spent at the farm was worth the 24+ hours of travel to get there! I recommend this experience to all people who crave some time away from busy lives and want to be immersed in nature. The entire family is easygoing and approachable, and gave us a lot of tips on places to visit. The location is amazing, with fjords, hills and lakes! Important notes: There is no form of transport except the school bus, so if you want to go around either need to ask for lifts or walk. You need to organise a good food list, otherwise it might get tricky with groceries. A GREAT first experience!

This was a great experience, both as a traveller and humanely. Generosa and Jon Anders truly are great people, always ready to help you out and very welcoming. The work hours are respected and the work itself is not very had but fun. It varies depending on what needs to be done and the season (which is normal in a farm). Outside of work, the hikes and landscapes all around are really amazing. Sure the town is far but you can da lot of things there and you won't get bored if you like being in the nature. Besides, Generosa really included us in their family, taking us to events with them.
