Llegué a NSH como un huésped de fin de semana y después de 3 meses de estar aquí (2 meses y medio de voluntario) puedo llamarlo hogar. Desde el primer día me sentí feliz, conectado con miradas auténticas de voluntarios y huéspedes que me revelaron historias que dejaron huella dentro de mi. NSH me permitió sanar, explorar, jugar y llorar emociones profundas. No me quiero ir, que lindo que puedo volver el próximo año. Gracias Eze por crear esta experiencia, por ponerle tanto corazón a este espacio y por permitirme ser parte de él. Surf your dreams ! Vivir y ya !

A fantastic place to volunteer! From the moment I arrived, I received a warm welcome. The team is incredibly friendly, and I was even able to further improve my Spanish. The house has nearly everything you need, and the kitchen is superbly equipped. I can truly recommend this place to anyone – I felt incredibly comfortable and would return without hesitation. A huge thank you to Ezequiel, who was always available and genuinely cared about our well-being.

This was my second time in the hostel and it was just as good as the first if not better! I've now done many volunteer experiences in Spain and what sets this place apart is the excellent organisation, clear expectations from the volunteers, and the close bonds that we form amongst the team. Ezequiel's passion for the project is evident in that he's always looking for ways to improve the hostel and ensure that we have a positive experience. Thank you!

My experience at NSH has been absolutely incredible. I felt so welcome from the first moment I arrived. Ezequiel works so hard to manage this beautiful hostel and the team of volunteers felt like a family. I was teaching the yoga which I enjoyed very much, 8 times per week, sometimes for a really small group, sometimes for more people. The work is very clear, the facilities in the hostel are great. It's such a wonderful chance to learn how to surf here with free surf classes and material. I would really recommend this experience to everyone. This place really really does feel like a home. <3

I honestly have no words to describe this amazing experience! From day one I felt super welcome and part of the team. The shifts and tasks were really well organized, easy, and fun, with plenty of free time to relax or explore. The vibes in the house were awesome — every day we'd do something fun: movie nights, ping pong and drinking games, yoga, singing, cooking, partying, or just hanging out together. Surfing was definitely one of my favorite parts — I lost count of how many times I surfed! Huge thanks to Ezequiel for always making us feel at home!

I really loved my experience at NSH. Not only that the place is super nice, comfy and clean but the people were the best. Ezequiel really cares about everyones wellbeing and also the rest of the team was incredible. The same applies to the surfschool, everyone is very nice and I'm really grateful for my surfing experience. The work is absolutely manageable, organized and flexible if you ever need a certain time off. We had so many nice times together and as promised, the hostel does feel like a second home now and I cant wait to hopefully come back next year! Muchas gracias por todo. <3

My experience at the hostel has truly been the best since I started volunteering on Worldpackers and other platforms. The daily tasks are clear, simple, and well organized — you just follow the checklist and everything runs smoothly. Ezequiel is a five-star manager: flexible, understanding, and always ready to listen or help. The team feels like family, full of good vibes and laughter. And Asturias… the most magical part of Spain! Gijón is perfect for surfing, hiking, and reconnecting with yourself. I'd come back a thousand times!

Tras haber leido la descripción de este voluntariado sentía que era un sitio donde habría podido sentirme a gusto y así fue! El hostel ofrece espacios muy agradables y limpios donde poderse relajar y conectar con otras personas. Ezequiel le da mucho cariño a su proyecto y se nota que le interesa que los voluntarios estén bien. Las tareas no podrían ser más claras y los horarios, respetados al 100%, son comunicados de semana en semana, lo cual permite organizarse con otros planes (con flexibilidad de cambios en caso de necesidad). Encantada de haber hecho mi primer voluntariado aquí, GRACIAS!

My experience here has been amazing. Ezequiel is an awesome host, he will make your stay as comfortable as possible. He truly understands what it means to be a volunteer. He is always available and easy to talk to. Melody and Steven are nice and will help you always with a smile, it has been amazing this time with them. The tasks are simple and clear with a guide to always know what to do, no surprises. The hostel is beautiful, you'll always find a comfortable place to chill or focus. The location is excellent, quiet and close to beach and downtown. Unforgettable memories!
