You are helping to restore a 50 acre degraded mountain that was burnt for many years. You will be planting native endemic trees and removing invasive species in a very beautiful part of the country in order to make sure that this catchment forest/mountain is restored to its former glory to increase water discharge, support biodiversity and make the area greener. You will contribute your time here both for a worthy cause while having lot of fun :)

20 Stunden Hilfe pro Woche

Bauen & Reparieren: Hilf bei verschiedenen Reparatur- oder Bauarbeiten.

Sozialarbeit: Hilfe bei Freiwilligenarbeit in lokalen Projekten und Gemeinschaften.

Landwirtschaft: Pflanze Feldfrüchte, säe Samen und hilf bei Außenarbeiten.

Gartenarbeit: Hilf beim Pflanzenanbau und der Gartenpflege

Zusätzliche Gebühr erforderlich

Betrag: US$ 7 Pro Tag

Gebühr bezahlt für: Vorteile für Reisende, Materialien für Freiwilligenaktivitäten und Spende an das Projekt

Beschreibung: This includes everything from cleaning, upkeeping and maintenance costs to food and tea plus the payment for the lady from the village who comes to help and cook food for volunteers. Tools and other materials plus anything remaining will end in the project budget. Thanks for choosing this and this is the most awesome NGO project in Sri Lanka. We are a non-profit environmental organization with a mission to protect the last remaining rainforests and threatened ecosystems in Sri Lanka including Sinharaja and Knucles which are two UNESCO world heritage sites through conservation projects and environmental activism primarily driven through volunteer support. In this specific project open for volunteering is a ecosystem restoration project (reforestation) of a 50 acre degraded hill which is scalable up to 250 acres of degraded forest lands back to its original lush green. We are creating a Rainforest from literally nothing and so far have seen significant change of landscape from a burnt hill to a hill full of plants that are already looks so green :)

Maximum 4-5 hours a day, 4 - 5 days a week

🌳 Volunteer Tasks
Depending on the season, your work may include:

🌱 Tree planting (during rainy seasons)

🌿 Weeding and removing invasive species (during dry seasons)

💧 Watering and caring for young saplings

🌾 Supporting plant nurseries and maintenance work

🎥 Helping with social media, photography, or video creation

🧑‍🏫 Environmental education, community.

If you are good at tech, research or even creating promotional material such as short videos, you'd be so much more handy.
