It is an amazing experience where you get to get in touch with nature, learn a lot about the wild life and the environment, have fun in the beach and make a lot of friends. The place itself is very safe and also very beautiful. You get to truly connect with it and with all the staff members and other volunteers. Definitely worth it!!

What an incredible place! Staying at the shelter was amazing, it's a great place to get in touch with nature and disconnect from the distractions of normal life. The dorms are basic but comfortable and the food is good but just rice and beans on repeat. Be aware that this is an island and getting to the nearest town costs $80 as a round trip for a taxi and a boat. Also be sure to come during turtle season, I came in October and there were no turtle nests that were going to hatch. However, it was the volunteer staff that made my experience so good. Thank you to Robbie, Luke, and Hannah!

This was a great experience, but it was the people that really made it so amazing. The staff this year were extremely kind, fun people that always made sure you were enjoying your time at the camp. The location is amazing, the camp is right on the beach and surrounded by a jungle filled with so many amazing animals. However, there really isn't anything to do besides spend time at the beach and do activities at the camp with the group. There were also overnight hatchery shifts which were extremely tiring. But the work during the day was usually fast and fairly easy. Bring cash.
