This sanctuary is surrounded by pure NZ nature. Some beautiful hikes and waterfalls to explore, unreal sunsets and lots of quiteness. If you don't have a car they do weekly food runs to the closest town, so you can join them. There's a beautiful temple for activities. I used it for my own practices but unfortunately there aren't many regular activities to join. I found everyone respectful with my space and accomodate to my needs.

The place and the nature is as in the pictures, very beautiful. The problem is tho that it is not a yoga the Center as in the description, there is yoga once in a week and you have to pay for it. I went there for yoga and there was none. This is more like a hippie community, drugs are also in an open use, so personally it differs from what I thought before arriving. Also, no free pickup or drop off. Communication before arriving was non existent so I did not know that I need to bring one week groceries with me as the grocery store run is on Tuesdays so bring everything with you from the city.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The place is very beautiful and peaceful, surrounded by nature, and I truly felt at home thanks to the warm and welcoming atmosphere. Everything was as agreed regarding hours and tasks, and the accommodation was cozy and comfortable. The only thing I think could make the experience even better would be to have more yoga classes and maybe a few extra activities for the volunteers to join. That way, it would feel even more enriching and fun. Overall, I'm grateful for my time here and would recommend it to other volunteers! 🌿✨

I arrived here without any special expectations but I found a really calm and pleasant place to be. The residents of the Center are really friendly and welcoming. They make you feeling like home.

I met awesome people during my stay at the Center and the nature around the place is breathtaking with beautiful waterfalls, beaches and hikes. However the place itself needs to improve. My stay got cancelled 3 days prior due to poor management and overbooking. I had to “fight” for my accommodation. The wifi went off for 3 days due to poor communication within the management. The work and overall safety were also concerning. During the first week of my stay there were no classes and after that the only yoga classes available were held by other volunteers. Not what I expected.

The Center is in a beautiful location and I met amazing fellow volunteers. Yet, the experience was disappointing. My booking was canceled just three days before arrival, despite being made six months in advance. The owner showed up at my room after work to scold me. Work was unsafe—mowing steep hills, painting on unstable ladders, and doing land maintenance—all under the burning sun, with seemingly no care for our well-being. I lived with a resident experiencing a meltdown, which made us volunteers feel unsafe. Lastly, yoga classes are ONLY held if one of the volunteers offers them.

My experience at the Center was positive due to my relationship with the other volunteers, and the beautiful location. However, there were concerning issues with some of the residents, including a mental health episode by one resident that I lived with, which negatively impacted my experience. Yoga classes are also not guaranteed, and are run by other volunteers. I frankly have nothing positive to say about the owners of this the Center. They never bothered to learn my name, and I felt their intention was to get as much free labor with as little effort into our experience as possible.

The positives of this experience were definitely the connections I made with other volunteers and the beautiful surrounding nature. However, this is not a yoga the Center as advertised. Yoga is not guaranteed. The owners also often put us in dangerous work conditions and had us work in direct sun for 6 hours a day doing hard land maintenance. There is no free pick or drop off (except on Tuesdays) and will cost you a total of $100. If you come on a work day you must make up that day before leaving or pay $90. Also, two of the resident's had severe mental health episodes while living close to us.

It was definetely not what we expected. We were supposed to stay there three weeks and we only stayed for three days. There were no yoga and meditation classes we could attend to. They only provided us with security equipments when we asked for it, while cutting wood. It seemed more like a cult than a normal place. It gets ghard to get out of there, but if you feel uncomfortable, leave. The working environment was harsh and not easy-going. There are crazy people living there and manipulative behaviours towards volunteers. If you are looking for spiritual experience, this is not the place.

My time as a volunteer was a dividing experience. The other volunteers were incredible, and the moments we shared will always stay in my heart. However, some residents were a bit sketchy, and depending on your room, you might have to use a communal bathroom and shower that isn't cleaned regularly. Unfortunately, some people never learned proper bathroom etiquette (and it wasn't the volunteers). No classes were held while I was there, and I wasn't informed about the work cycle, which led to them asking me for $45 to stay an extra night. There are better places, but also worse ones.
