I felt very welcomed from the very first day. Even though the owners aren't always around, Jenna, Dwey, and the cleaning ladies give all the support you need and create such a light, friendly environment. The tasks are easy and they are very flexible. Breakfast is simple but really good, and you also receive 10 RM per day at the end. The location is perfect, right on the main food and party street. My last day was unforgettable. I loved it so much — thank you for everything! 💌❤️

I'm so glad I came to HOJ! One of the best hostels I've volunteered at. fair hours, clean and comfortable place, and the best vibe. Special thanks to Janna and Dewy for their patience, guidance, and support, they made everything easy to learn. Reception shifts are well-structured and activities were so much fun, I loved leading the pub crawl and meeting amazing people from all over the world. Overall, it was an amazing experience and I'm grateful to have been part of the HOJ family, I truly felt at home and left with unforgettable memories.

Really fun experience with awesome staff. The expectations of the work you have to do are very realistic and good hours considering is a volunteering. It really felt like a family with the rest of the volunteers, staff and even travelers. Thank you!

I loved my two weeks of volunteering at the hostel. The work was quite simple and the schedule was flexible. I enjoyed taking part in the activities organized by the hostel, which allowed me to meet many travelers. The staff was very kind, the hostel was always clean, and the dorms were spacious and comfortable. The hostel is very well located in the city of George Town, and Penang Island offers plenty of activities. I highly recommend this experience, 100%!

I had the best two weeks at HOJ. All the volunteers were amazing and we quickly became a family. It's so easy to meet people in this hostel and the hostel itself is in an amazing location and always clean. I would recommend this place to everyone who likes being social and is outgoing⭐️If you're looking for a place that's quiet and don't really want to socialise, this place is not for you, but if you are then you'll have the best time here!

The Hostel was very social and very well located. Closed to the best restaurants and the famous street art in George Town. The host was flexible, I could change my dates and shifts when I needed. The volunteer team vibe was amazing, I felt at home 😊✨

I seriously can't recommend this enough !! my experience was enjoyable that I wish I extended my time there. the work at the hostel was manageable and easy to grasp, making the experience fulfilling and stress free. what truly stood out was the friendly and energetic atmosphere created by the owners and fellow volunteers. they foster a welcoming environment that makes you feel right at home.

My time at the hostel was amazing (I even extended for a little bit longer). I met so many people from all over the world, who definitely became my friends for life. The work itself was okay and easy to learn. I also really loved Georgetown! So many cultures and things to do. So I would say if you want a mix of a social and cultural volunteer experience, the hostel is the place to be.

My two weeks at HOJ were awesome! I met so many amazing people and the work load was totally doable with enough free time to enjoy beautiful George Town. I felt at home there during my stay, the vibes of the other volunteers and the guests are just incredible. I'd stay there again any time! 🤗
