Minha experiência não foi boa, a senhora da limpeza é responsável por dividir as tarefas, não me senti segura no local, o quarto dos voluntários não tem porta, qualquer pessoas tinha acesso, o banheiro do quarto solicitei a colocação de uma tampa para o vaso sanitário, que foi disponibilizado, além de um aquecedor, pois o espaço era muito frio! O Hostel recebe pessoas em situação de vulnerabilidade, usuários de drogas, alcoólatras, e essa informação não são transmitida aos voluntários! A cozinha do lado do Hostel, na maioria das vezes estava extremamente suja, falta organização e orientação!

The welcoming was at its lowest point. On this profile's page they offer the pick up but no one came to pick me up when I arrived at night. The work at the hostel was easy and relaxing even though it was not always easy to understand and organize tasks effectively due to lack of communication between both the hosts and to the volunteers. Some hosts were more open to communication and with them it was easier to decide the shift hours. I would recommend it to meet international travelers:) (When I left none of the hots were there, nor replied to my messages when I left).

Foi nossa primeira experiência pela plataforma e foi incrível! O hostel tem uma vibe super legal, as pessoas que se hospedaram ali eram muito amigáveis e a equipe de voluntariados também. Nao tivemos muito contato com o dono do local, ele não ficava muito tempo por la, mas a senhora Nazaré que cuida do hostel, é um amor de pessoa e nos ensinou tudo que precisávamos. As tarefas eram bem simples de serem executadas, o ambiente era bem tranquilo e as pessoas tinham o mesmo intuito: ajudar e aproveitar a cidade do Porto.

Foi a minha primeira experiência como voluntário e não poderia ter sido melhor! Me conectei com pessoas de diversos países e pude aprender muito com eles. Graças a uma funcionária no Hostel, pude aprender muito sobre a cultura local! A equipe foi ótima, tanto os que já estavam, quanto os que chegaram depois, todos colaboravam para o trabalho dar certo e nossas noites sempre eram bem animadas!

Não tenho palavras para descrever a experiência que foi voluntariar no Oporto ! Simplesmente amei, os funcionários são adoráveis oque torna o ambiente confortável e respeitoso, além de muito acolhedor…(a dona Nazaré, se tornou uma grande amiga), os próximos voluntários terão a sorte de conhecer a figura. E assim como eu, colecionar boas memórias. Claro, sempre colaborando e respeitando o ambiente, as tarefas e regras de limpeza, para que todos habitem da melhor maneira juntos.

I had a great experience at the hostel thanks to the amazing people i have met during my stay.both the people who were working at the hostel and the other volunteers were really nice and friendly and i had a lot of fun with them.the hostel is really nice too,except for the volunteers room that could be better. The job was about ironing and making beds and time passes if you are with the other volunteers. If you want to surf the easiest way is to rent a board in one of the surf school at the beach.

João, os funcionários e a equipe de voluntários são todos ótimos. porém, a estrutura do local é muito precária. o quarto dos voluntários é um puxadinho, o banheiro não tem sabão para lavar as mãos, muito menos papel para secar, o vaso não tem acento e não tem janela. apesar do empenho por parte da equipe de limpeza a cozinha era repugnante, sempre com janelas fechadas que deixavam um cheiro ruim no local. além disso não é um hostel com proposta surfista como a vaga nos leva a entender.

The work task where chill and easy. The place felt like home, and was really safe. The social environment depends on how many voluntaries that are starting at the moment you are there. All the stuff wore super nice! The location of the hostel is a bit outside of the city. However, it is about 3 minutes away from the metro stop. We had a really nice time here!

The volunteers have to iron the bedsheets and do the beds of the hostel rooms. It's not a difficult task at all! Usually you will not be on your own during the ironing so you can have conversations during this time and you are also allowed to listen to music or something like that. The other stuff is really really friendly and so is the owner of the hostel as well. You get in touch with a lot of travelers. The park is a 15 min walks, the ocean is a bit father away, but still ok to walk. Also the metro is really near by. All in all I really enjoyed my stay there and would do it again. ☺️
