I had a great time staying at Christ's house! I stayed for 3 weeks but I think 10days or 2 weeks would be perfect to experiment local culture and what Christ's has to learn you. Horquetas is a really small town and you can be bored if you stay for a too long time (even more if you are alone) Christ is a nice host and a good cooker. During my free days I traveled to Limòn and La Fortuna but you have to be aware about the fact that the travel can be long. The house is comfy (but no hot water in the shower: we get used to it but it's good to know 😉). Tasks are easy.

Thanks Zoe, I am glad with your job like volunteer here with the basic pack program with introduction to the desing and the spanish for backpackers but now we have available standard pack with spanish intesive personalized course or permaculture course taught by an agricultural engineer.
The premiun program include different types of hosting and the pack of course that you prefer with a tour.
Every pack include basic volunteer program or we can offer the premiun HQ volunteer pack.
Thanks every volunteer for help this program with the basic program also are doing the difference. Profesionals are welcome to the HQ volunteer program too and work together for the change and you can do for longer while you learn spanish for profesionals with international certificate.

I would really like to write a positive review like the others but my experience wasn't the best! I was there for one week and the first five days I was the only volunteer (she told me before going we would be more ) and we didn't do any work at all. When I arrived the house was pretty dirty and she told me we would clean it together, so I waited, and we didn't do it until the last day. I just felt like she had much more others things to do and didn't care much about me. She is nice and nothing is extremely bad but just be careful if you go by yourself, be secure there are other volunteers :)

I am a latinoamerican woman triying to do the change and sorry Gina I don't control the world for that reason I am asking for help, you know what happened with the other volunteers and their flights. Is sad another woman and from Spain talking about problems and not about solutions. Is sad that nothing was enough for you I did my best in this cirscuntances, like I did with the other volunteers. I am happy anyway with all the trees and good things that the volunters are doing in this town and for the forest. The person who want to help this costarrican woman trying to do the change is welcome. Also remember that Gina was here just 1 week during the holly week when all costarrican are in vacation time and everything works different. Remember this is a ecocomunnity project in a rural town, is not tourist and is not a city but we have the most beautiful animals and the idea is to keep them save. Also you can see the videos created for the volunteers about the experience. Also I recive only peopple more that 18 years old in the volunteer house who can clean their own room and bathroon and do their own laundry because food and dishes I am encharged in the other house and also I work like arquitecture professor and I don´t have time to be encharge of other adult for that reason I have videos how to do your own laundry with the machine that is in the volunteer house, the idea is work together to do the change because the latinoamercans woman we can do more than clean houses. Anyway thanks for help to organize spaces before to do the new desing of FCRstore with products from another artisans from the town, also thaks for help planting the trees, thanks for help to put the protection for the bees, now we have a new and safe area for volunteers, thanks for participate in the latinos dance class all this in only 5 days. The only activity that not was possible was the english class in the community because during that week was vacation time. Pura vida!!!

It is a really immersive experience!! The host is generous and there to help! It is all about living like a tico/tica and learning how the life in a small town works here. I recommand this expreience to everyone who love to get involved in the culture and take part of the movement of a country! I also learned lot more Spanish in only 3 weeks! Gracias por todo Christ!

Ma semaine passée à Sarapiqui était pleine de découvertes! En immersion totale dans la vie d'un local, que ce soit pour les repas, le logement, la proximité avec les habitants et les activités à faire. En ce qui concerne le bénévolat, les tâches demandées sont réalisables sans expérience car simples. À propos du logement, il est en évolution car il concerne une partie du bénévolat. Christ est aux petits soins pour que vous passiez un bon séjour et échanger sur les différents modes de vie. Pura vida !

I had a great time in FCRecolearning The host, Chris, was super nice and cute she treats us like family. The apartment wasn't super cozy but I could say that it was part of the experience Do this project if you want to see how a costarican family lives, and to discover the real costarican culture

The property wasn't cozy at all, very dirty and did not felt safe at all. There was hole in the wall where animals and insect could go into the house. The food was okay, but the first day we spend there we only got 1 meal. Also felt like the host needed more our money than the help she was asking for. Overall we didn't stay there and found an other project to go to in costa rica. Kinda disappointed since i'm a student with no money and and this trip cost me a lot. The host was really kind tho, and is a really good person :)

This is the whatsapp message that Marilou send me after She left: "Hello, are you willing to send me the certificate because that’s why i paid to go to costa rica… and in exchange i don’t do a bad review on worldpackers app, i do a good one?"

They are 2 girls Marilou and Shana and they spent 2 days without paying for food or lodging and they did not do a project. I am a costarrican woman doing this ecological project with my own savings and the money I get teaching Spanish and architecture in Costa Rica, I am a professor but and I don't give away certifications without work.

I am a professional and I do not accept threats. that is a crime in Costa Rica (my lawyer have the information from my phone ) The certificate is for volunteers who participate in the program. You can see pictures of the house where the other volunteers are. Is a private house, totally furniture, 3 private bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, with dinning room, living room, kitchen area and laundry room from the backyard the animal that you can see is a pretty horse running in the mornings, you can see the video too.
