Jana's place is absolutely gorgeous, straight out of mamma Mia, and the cats as well as the donkeys are just so, so sweet. They live very good lives with Jana, who is dedicated to her animals and always puts them before herself, which I truly and deeply admire. The work is so much fun!However, because Jana has so much work to do, she can be a bit stressed at times, which sometimes lead to miscommunications. I was sometimes unsure how I was supposed to manage a task, but there was no room for questions or mistakes, which made the work environment somewhat negative at times.

I had an incredible time volunteering with Jana, the house is beautiful, the cats melt your heart, the donkeys are wonderful and overall it's just an incredible place to be and disconnect from the shelter, while truly making an impact and feeling like you've stepped into a mamma mia film. The work Jana does to give the animals a new life is so admirable and inspiring however I will say sometimes her stress could make the work environment a little negative which despite being understandable can sometimes make situations feel uncomfortable. I really loved my time there though🤍

This was my first experience and I couldn't have chosen a better place to start. The work starts early in the morning but is not difficult. After helping Jana with the shelter's, I went home to clean the cat area. I spent countless hours in front of the fireplace with cats. They are really sweet and cuddly. I miss them a lot. For the entire duration of my experience I always slept with some of them :) During the winter it is actually very cold, so I recommend bringing warm clothes even for staying indoors. I really thank Jana for the hospitality, I hope to meet you again! <3

My stay could not have been better. All the animals are so lovely and Jana is a wonderful person. The work was totally doable and I still had lots of time to explore the island. I had such a wonderful time. Thank you so much ☺️😸

Honestly I could'nt have had a better first volunteer experience at Jana's place!! The time I spent here was truly amazing. Everything from walking with the Donkeys and Zena, to petting all the cats in front of the fireplace 😻 The work was more than fair and not hard at all. Jana is a lovely woman. So passionate about her animals and their wellbeing. I have nothing but good memories from this place. Thank you Jana 💛

My partner and I had a fantastic two weeks at the shelter on Jana's amazing property. It was the perfect first Worldpackers experience for us. The house, facilitates and rooms were great (even better than we were expecting). The work was varied and fulfilling, ranging from preparing hay for the donkeys, taking care of the cats, joining the shelter walks and even picking olives. We had plenty of time to explore the island and relax, including riding Jana's bikes around the island on our days and afternoons off. It was a great way to slow down and experience local life on Croatia's islands!

The accommodation was simply delightful, with each volunteer having their own cozy space. I wish I could extend my stay, but I carry the memories forever. Had a great time at the shelter, the donkeys and cats are adorable (especially Queen Lucy and Toto the dog ). Beautiful rooms and property. I felt really at home and will miss the place. Jana is a joy to be around and very inspiring the way she cares for her animals. Will definitely be back!

Janas place might just be heaven on earth. Can't recommend it enough to anyone who are looking for a calm lifestyle close to nature and animals. The work is not hard and quite enjoyable, carrying hay, painting and cleaning up by the donkeys. The view is amazing and it was still warm in October. Jana is a loving and kind superwoman taking care of the whole place herself. A true inspiration and interesting person. The cats were everywhere and all sooo cute. Me and my friend went together and we are both eager to come back. Thank you Jana for this experience <3

My experience at Jana's place has been incredible. This is the perfect place if you want to get in touch with nature and animals and live a slow life. The cats, donkeys (+ Zenna, the pony) and the dog are super sweet and funny, i miss them. Jana is a great host, she's very goodhearted, her house and the rooms are amazing. You work just a little bit in the morning and then you have the whole day to chill and enjoy the beautiful island. I feel super grateful and I absolutely recommend this experience to everyone who loves animals 💗
