Chris and Suzie have a lovely farm in rural Scotland, it's a great place for anyone who wants to get close to nature and have some time away from the big cities, it's a kind of peace and quiet that you can enjoy. What can I say about Suzie and Chris? They are understanding, honest and always willing to help you plan a getaway (Suzie gives the best advice), the work is fair and the food is some of the best I've had on my trip. I highly recommend this volunteering experience.

Suzie and Chris are the most loving and caring hosts I know. I just felt like being at home and give myself some peace. You're going to have really delicious food all day long and you're definitely never getting enough of it! You'll have your own comfortable caravan to sleep and part of the living room in the house. The work you have to do is fair, good and easy. You're going to work until 1pm and have the rest of your day to enjoy yourself. The pets are so cute, especially the dog is always up for a cuddle. I recommend this place to everybody, who wants to calm down and connect to nature. :)

Nuestra experiencia en la casa fue grandiosa, Suzie y Chris son encantadores. La estancia fue muy comoda e independiente al estar en nuestra propia caravana. Las tareas que desarrollamos fueron en el jardín, la huerta, el invernadero, cuidado de animales y reparando cosas en la granja, fueron muy variadas y entretenidas. La comida siempre fue abundante y deliciosa, nunca faltaron los postres de Chris. Con los horarios son flexibles, nos ayudaron a organizar los dias libres de una manera altruista. finalmente solo nos queda agradecerles con el corazón lo maravillosos que son. Abrazos.

Disfrutamos mucho nuestra estancia con Chris y Suzie en la casa, fue una gran experiencia. Vivimos en una caravana y estuvieron muy pendientes que estuviéramos cómodos. El trabajo es principalmente en la mañana, desarrollamos actividades de granja, jardinería y cuidados en la casa. Chris y Suzie son muy amables, atentos y divertidos, Buddy es un amor :), nos sentimos como en casa, nos ayudaron a mejorar nuestro ingles y a planear nuestro tiempo libre. Muchas gracias por recibirnos como una familia y por enseñarnos tantas cosas, los llevamos en el corazón y los extrañaremos.

I owe immense gratitude to Chris and Suzie. They welcomed me into their family and treated me like their own. I did tasks like gardening, repairs, painting, and sometimes animal care and cleaning in the mornings, leaving the rest of the day free. They ensured the work was manageable and appropriate. The food was delicious and ample. On my days off, they were helpful, offering advice and preparing lunches for my biking tours. This rural area is perfect for anyone seeking quality time in nature and meaningful work. Thank you so much, Suzie and Chris! I'll miss you and hope to see you again.

Thank you so much Suzie and Chris for the hospitality and good deal. I felt at home, was a amazing experience for me where I improve so much my English especially the listening and new vocabulary about gardening and farms. The tasks were simple and adjusted to the weather. The food was delicious, I tried Scottish tipicals food. There are a lot of amazing places nearby for explore by foot or bicycle. I totally recommend this experience.

Great opportunity to know the country side of Scotland and get in touch with nature and farm animals. Suzie and Chris were always making sure that I was happy with the task and their family dynamics. Thanks for teaching me about gardening and all those puddings!

I can't say enough good things about this family, I felt very welcomed and looken after, They have the cutest pets and meals were perfect, the task were simple, straight forward and diverse, you learn a bit about everything of what it entitles to run a farm, a lot about animals, you have a little place of your own for privacy, is a perfect place for someone that enjoys peace an quiet, wants to connect with nature and learn from it, it was a lovely experience :)

My stay at the Withorn Lodge was overall nice. Since I stayed in my own van, I can not say anything about the provided accommodation, but the trailer looks big and nice from the outside. Suzie is a lovely and educated woman, she and her husband are very helpful with whatever you need. Tasks were mostly gardening, easy to do and adjusted to the Scottish weather.
