Das Erlebnis

This plantation is a 19th-century Dutch Colonial heritage with lots of history and locally-harvested coffee. It is managed by one of the most influential and respected families in Blitar and has been handed down from generation to generation. In 2015, the property was opened to the public, offering tours through the coffee fields, museums, and a warehouse -converted cafe that has the charm and relaxed vibes of a Dutch-Indies past life.

Types of help and learning opportunities : Charity Work, Language practice, Teaching, Gardening, Animal Care, Farmstay help, Help around the house, Hospitality/Tourism, General Maintenance, Help with Computers/ Internet

Aktivitäten & Schichten

1. Learning about coffee cupping and coffee brewing.
2. Five days a week and two days off per week. On days off, volunteers may leave
the plantation to visit other places with management’s knowledge or take one of our
tours or take part in activities.
3. Six hours of work on weekdays. Seven hours of work at the cafe on weekend
and holidays.
4. Assist in taking care of coffee seedlings in the plantation nursery area.
5. Assist in product packaging in the production area.
6. Cleaning the museums and guesthouses.
7. Teaching English to local children (only on special occasions ).
8. Be a guest speaker for “Cross Culture” discussion (only on special occasions).

Regeln

Participate in De Karanganjar Koffieplantage Volunteering Program with good intentions, with no other purpose other than to volunteer at De Karanganjar Koffieplantage, learn about Blitar, and seek friendship with the people of Blitar. Abide by company rules and contribute to this program as well as possible. Represent my country of origin well and respect Indonesian culture and norms. Keep my room clean and tidy. Not use drugs on De Karanganjar Koffieplantage. Not invite someone other than a registered volunteer to sleep at the inn.
