Karen was an incredible host who was so inspiring, friendly and kind. It was a great 6 weeks where I got to really immerse myself in the local community and discover so many gorgeous parts of the West Coast and Highlands. Karen was like a best friend to me and we got to do so many lovely day trips together, cook and groove to amazing tunes, to working together to update her website and market her amazing art! I will never forget my time here at the home, it was truly special and I will miss Karen and the community dearly - thank you so much again for everything Karen ❤️ Fip Mondè😉🫶🏼

Tarbert is a wonderful little community in the Argyll region of Scotland, from whence there are endless opportunities for volunteers to explore the hidden gems of the western coast. Karen's home exudes a perfect balance of peace and possibility in the breathtaking natural wild of Kintyre — I am truly grateful to have had the privilege of staying with her and would return in a heartbeat!

This experience was amazing. Sometimes I felt like if I'm in an Artist Retreat, in an inspirational place, surrounded by nature and deep landscapes. Karen is a great host and artist, and the tasks were easy and rewarding. Food is always tasty and she does her best to make your experience satisfying. Karen is an amazing human being , who took care of me and my girlfriend so well in our travel around Scotland.We enjoyed so much her company and her delicious food. I loved working in her garden and the creative atmosphere around the house.It was a truly wonderful experience which I hope to repeat in the near future. My experience with Karen was wonderful. I spent almost a month at her house working in the greenhouse and in the garden, also helping her with the house and cabin cleaning. Karen is a very nice person, very open, very caring. I felt that we connected very well, that we made a horizontal friendship and she was always willing to lend an ear and help for me. I have no words to express my stay with Karen, it is personal, we made a great friendship and I am happy to have planted the first seeds of the season and give the first stage of life to the greenhouse... welcome spring! Thank Karen !!!

My experience with Karen was simply wonderful. We learned a lot about construction and maintenance. We worked most of the time in the garden, and we were quite lucky with the weather. The house is super comfortable and Karen is a lovely person. She treated us with kindness and took care of us. Additionally, she lent us clothes and boots appropriate for working outside. I hope someday I can return and be able to contribute to other projects in this wonderful place. Thank you for everything! ♥

I had an absolutely lovely stay at Karen's. It was the perfect amount of routine and hibernation that I needed after several months of go, go, go travelling. We had delicious home-cooked meals every day, which I especially enjoyed helping out with, and the work was always different which kept things interesting. Karen was super flexible as I was also doing some part-time remote work so was able to work around hours if need. She was also lovely enough to take me around to a couple of nearby spots on the weekend so I also got to do some sight-seeing. I'm already missing the homemade bread!
