What can I say about the hostel, Francisca, María, and María… they are truly wonderful people. This month in Esmoriz has been even more rewarding than I ever imagined. I arrived with high expectations and I leave with even higher ones. The people I met, the little things they taught me, the culture, the town, the atmosphere...it's all simply magical. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for an adventure in such a beautiful corner of Portugal. Every place has its stories, and this one is definitely unforgettable. Love you the hostel team. Pura Vida!!!

It was a pleasure to work with Francisca and both Maria's and I couldn't have asked for a better first volunteer experience! If you want to be close to the beach and emerge yourself with locals and Portuguese culture, then this is the place!

My experience at BE HAPPY Hostel in Esmoriz was incredible! The town is small, peaceful, and just a few steps from the beach — perfect if you're looking to surf, relax, and disconnect. I came to improve my surfing and was definitely worth it!. I met good people, had so much fun, and got to experience the local culture — delicious Portuguese food, music, and traditions. The BE HAPPY staff is by far the best I've ever worked with: super friendly, relaxed, flexible, and they really trust you with your tasks. Thank you for everything, and I hope to see you again!

My volunteering experience in the hostel was absolutely amazing! Working with Francisca and both Marias was very nice, they are very clear with the tasks, always respect the schedule and they became my friends in Esmoriz. I would love to go again, I wouldn't change anything and thank you for this time that now feels so short. I enjoyed the beach, the bike trips and talking with all the travelers I met in the hostel. I recommend this experience 100%!!

Esta foi minha primeira experiência com o worldpackers e foi incrível! Primeiramente, Esmoriz é uma vila bem pequena, então é o lugar perfeito para relaxar e se conectar com a cultura local. o hostel fica bem na frente de uma praia linda e muito gostosa. O trabalho é tranquilo, normalmente conseguia acabar tudo na parte da manhã e tinha o resto do dia todo para aproveitar a cidade. o hostel não é um party hostel, mas ainda sim é bem sociável e conheci muita gente incrível trabalhando lá. A Francisca é uma ótima anfitriã, sempre querendo ajudar com qualquer coisa. Só tenho a agradecer!

My stay at the hostel was the first one I did via the Worldpackers platform and I can only recommend it immensely! Maria and Francisca are the most amazing, warm and kind people who will always make sure you feel comfortable, no matter if it comes to work or your time off. It felt more like working with friends than anything else and I will always hold the experience dear to my heart. :)) The amount of work was just as described, mainly setting up breakfast in the morning and afterwards do some housekeeping, keeping your whole afternoon and evening free, even on your workdays!

As a solo female traveler safety is always my #1 priority, I felt safe, comfortable & welcomed into the hostel family & the beautiful town of Esmoriz. The hours are respected & the work is easy. Literally 1 minute from the beach there are endless outdoor activities to enjoy. Fransica & Maria are incredible + go above & beyond for you. I made so many friends through our guests & loved getting to know the locals. I only have positive things to say about my time here x Shell ❤️🇨🇦

My time in the hostel was simply amazing. It was my first volunteer experience and it will be really hard to be topped. Francisca and Maria are incredible people: very friendly, always available and that made me feel welcome from the very first day. The hostel is new and really beautiful, probably the best hostel i've ever been to; and Esmoriz it's a very quiet town where you can relax and be in contact with nature. In conclusion: GO FOR IT!

Staying at the hostel&the hostel was my first Worldpackers experience and I couldn't ask for a better one! The hosts are very welcoming and won't ever let you down and just in general it's been always a great working atmosphere. Other than that this place is pretty chill and fun. Great opportunity to get in touch with other travelers, making new friends and even get in touch with the locals. :) I would definitely do it all over again. So don't miss out on your opportunity to visit such a nice place as Esmoriz in beautiful Portugal!

I had the incredible fortune of spending my volunteer experience with the hostel, and I can only speak positively about this opportunity. From start to finish, everything was exceptionally well-organized, and the entire experience was simply fantastic. the hostel team was extremely friendly, professional, and dedicated.
