I came back for the second time and I had to leave because I don't have any more days in Serbia. It is an excellent family that opens the door of their home and their lives to you. If you read this and my takes place I recommend that you spend time with them and learn about their culture

My time in Desine was perfect. Milos and his family make you feel at home since day one. The food is really good and the place is peaceful, you can really dive into the local culture. The volunteers stay in a very cozy house where you have everything you need. The tasks are very simple: helping with animals, helping in kitchen, painting, cleaning, there are many activities to do and you do what fits you. Hvala 🫶

After spending some time with Miloš and his family, I have made so many memories in such little time and couldn't be more grateful to them for this opportunity. I think the way of life in their village is admirable and I haven't a bad word to say about my stay. I think the Serbian Orthodox Church is magical and I really enjoyed my time at the Liturgies and spending time with the locals afterwards as some of my fondest memories were made then. The whole family are amazing and I dearly miss the amazing cooking. I hope anyone who visits can have as much fun as I did. It's a brilliant experience!!

Excelentes personas, muy respetuosas y abiertas a escuchar otras opciones, su proyecto de vida es hermoso, viven de una forma sencilla y utilizando todo sin generar desperdicios, muy buenos cocineros y personas! Recomiendo este lugar para venir a vivir esta experiencia. Tenes una casa solo para los voluntarios con todo lo que necesitas y más! La comida es abundante y el trabajo es sencillo.

An unforgettable and unique experience. You truly become part of Milos and Dragana's family — including the grandmas and kids, who all make you feel as home. It's a great opportunity to experience authentic Orthodox family life. Work can be physically demanding but always rewarding and done at a relaxed pace with proper breaks. Not ideal for vegans, as local food is a big part of the experience. The village is remote, so it's perfect if you enjoy nature and peaceful solitude. If you're open-minded and ready to embrace a different way of life, this experience is absolutely worth it.

I couldn't recommend this experience more. It was so much more than I expected. The family truly welcomes you into their home, culture, history, and daily life. Milos is a very kind person, with whom you can share wines and beers and have very good conversations, and also work concentrated on the tasks that are needed, such as taking care of the animals, some cleaning tasks. His family made me feel like someone else in their environment, they gave me delicious meals, we went for a hike in the mountains and even took me to his Aikido classes. Milos, thank you for everything, it was a great experience.

I was accepted into the family right from day 1. The accommodation is perfect and I don't even want to talk about the food, it was very good. I was allowed to try everything and be a help to Dragana. She is a very warm person and also looked after me when I fell ill. The work didn't feel like work and I was able to switch off and enjoy myself in the village. However, I had to set boundaries once, as much as I enjoyed it. Miloš accepted it immediately and it was all good, but I still think it's important to mention it because it put me in an uncomfortable situation. Thank you for everything!
