I loved every second of my stay here! Deigo was super friendly and helpful. We stuck to a pretty consistent schedule of working in the mornings and some afternoon, then having down time the rest of the day. All meals were home cooked and a collaborative effort. It felt like a family! We always had fun things to do and there were all sorts of learning opportunities regarding the jungle and the culture. 10/10 recommend!

My girldfriend and I had a great time with Diego at Arutum the shelter! It was a great experience learning from Diego. My tasks involved shaving and sanding bamboo, carrying rocks for an infrastructure project Diego was building and weeding the garden. It was awesome to learn about how sustainable bamboo is and its uses! Each day/night we did unique activities such as going to the river, cacao ceremony, walking in the jungle, Ortiga plant ceremony, making pilche bowls. The fresh cooked meals and fruits were amazing and Diego was super tentative to all our needs. Thank you again Diego! ❤️

I had a really good time here. The food was amazing - we ate fresh fish and tried lots of new fruits and veg every day! With every meal we had homemade tea too. In the mornings we made breakfast and we worked from 8-12 before making lunch. For the work we were helping prepare the bamboo for the new project - sanding etc, and weeding in the garden. In the afternoons we did some medicinal rituals, walked to river and in the jungle, made our own bowls from a Pilche plant, did yoga and relaxed in nature! Diego was happy to show us anything we were interested in and answered all our questions.

Si estás pensando en hacer un voluntariado en el refugio, sin duda tienes que hacerlo. Es el lugar perfecto para conectar con la naturaleza. La selva amazónica es impresionante. Despertaba todos los días con el sonido de los insectos y las aves. La atención de Diego es la mejor. Aprendí mucho sobre plantas, la selva y la cultura que tienen las comunidades del Amazonas. La comida es muy rica y nutritiva. En el refugio viven 4 perritos que también hicieron de mi estancia la mejor. Estoy muy contenta y agradecida de venir. Sin duda quiero regresar.

Um lugar lindo no meio da floresta, a casa é linda, muito limpa e ordenada, tem um rio próximo onde eu tomava banho à tarde, Diego e a família são muito amáveis, me fizeram sentir em casa.. Quanto ao trabalho, foi tranquilo, me dediquei ao jardim e na casa. Um lindo lugar para quem quer ficar em contato com a natureza e conhecer um pouco mais da cultura e gastronomia local :)

La verdad fue una experiencia increible, en la culpa pude conectar con la naturaleza y reencontrarme interiormente, es un gran lugar el cual me enseño y aprendi bastante, una experiencia que sin duda repetiria. Adicional diego siempre es muy atento y muy abierto a enseñarte y hacer las cosas en equipo una gran persona, sin duda alguna la mejor experiencia.

My experience here was really good. It is a very beautiful area and pretty quiet so I took a lot of time to myself to relax and just enjoy being here. The work was as agreed and wasn't difficult. Communication was a little hard for me, but that's because I don't speak Spanish well so it was a great learning experience to be able to start recognizing the words people were saying. Facilities are simple but clean and the rooms were comfortable. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to get away into nature for a bit and disconnect.

Unfortunately I couldn't stay as long as I'd have liked but Diego and his family made the effort to make the most of my time. Diego was really patient and helpful as I tried to improve my Spanish. he answered all my questions before I arrived and accommodated my changes. The accommodation is basic (it's the rainforest) but clean and neat and has all you need. You can be disconnected but there's also access to fast good WiFi. Short but memorable experience!

Lugar perfeito para se reconectar com a mãe natureza e consigo mesmo! O anfitrião extremamente atencioso, flexível e profissional. Os trabalhos estavam alinhados com a proposta e fizemos diversas atividades no tempo livre. Ps: se as condições climaticas permitir, saia a noite para ver as estrelas, é um espetáculo a parte.

The house is wonderfully located and the work was great and not too hard, as it is only for up to 4 hours a day. I enjoyed my time as the food, bed and people were great. Definitely recommend!
