York is a lovely city. Everything looks like it came out the guest house movie, when in fact it was the other way around. The placement is a few minutes from the city, but it's not far at all — totally normal. The space where the volunteers stay is small, but it's comfortable. It's a triple bunk bed; there's a sofa and a wardrobe for us to store our things. The kitchen is very small, but it has pretty much everything we need. They go grocery shopping every week, and if you need more or want to change a brand or flavor, you can ask. The activities depend on the day. They always treat everyone well.

I had an amazing time here! The workload was super light, the most I ever worked in a day was about 2.5 hours. Johnny and Katy are incredible hosts; they always came by with groceries every week and checked up on us to make sure everything was going great. This place is perfect if you want to take a relaxing break while still being close to everything. York isn't huge, but it's big enough for plenty of things to do and places to shop. It's only a 20 minute walk from the guest house to the city center. Honestly, Johnny and Katy are the best hosts I've ever had!Hoping to come back in the future!

If any potential host is reading this then I can tell you that she is a good person and very helpful. She did a good job cleaning in our guest house and she got on well with the other volunteers. I have no problem to recommend her.

I had an enjoyable time volunteering here in York, the workload is quite manageable and tasks are pretty standard cleaning and laundry. It is a nice bonus that groceries are provided. The hosts Johnny and Katrin are easy to get along with and I didnt have any issues during my stay. There is not much interaction with the guests and I am used to working in Hostels and places with a more social atmosphere so I do suggest looking for meetups and events to meet people. After a week or so I made a lot of new friends in york and there is always lots of live music and events at the pubs downtown.

My time volunteering in York was a calm and peaceful experience. I found a very special sense of peace in the city. The place is small but very cozy, and the work was straightforward, which meant I had plenty of energy left over to enjoy the day after my shift. Johnny and Katrin were very kind and attentive to me, always making sure I was comfortable. Their polite way of communicating made me feel so welcome. My roommates became unforgettable friends, and we shared many precious moments together. The city of York is beautiful and full of history, and the local people are very polite and calm.

This was an incredible opportunity! Katrin and Johnny are warm, kind, and very welcoming. The tasks were simple and manageable, and we had our own private space with a fully equipped kitchen. The city center is just a 15-minute walk away, and the route offers beautiful scenery along the way. The locals are extremely friendly, which made it easy to meet new people and truly immerse ourselves in the local culture. I highly recommend it!

I absolutely loved my stay in York !Johnny and Katrin are wonderful people, truly kind 🤗 The work is done meticulously. Instructions are shared with our group based on the needs of the day. And they make the best tea I've ever tasted! Thank you, Johnny and Katrin! 🌞 I spent very the guest house time in the room; I preferred to enjoy York and my friends as much as possible. York is close to the accommodation and it's a beautiful city! If you like parks, bars, and restaurants with lots of charm, it's perfect! I met incredible people in York who showed me their city. I'll definitely come back to York ✨

Katrin and Johnny are amazing hosts, have been really nice and helpful during this whole experience, I loved spending time with them and their lovely family and it was very satisfying to see the progress in their beautiful witchy house. The work is not very difficult and can be done within the expected time and since most of the time there were other volunteers working together it was even faster and easier.
