The environment in this hostel is truly special because of the wonderful people that work there. They really make you feel like a family. I am learning Spanish so they really went above and beyond to help me learn, be patient with me & teach me typical Columbian slang! The hostel is always super busy so it's nice to have a constant of new friendly faces coming through to do the many activities they offer with.

I spent one month working in the hostel and has been a really good experience ! The job is really chill , I was doing most of the times the breakfast with the best worker ever called Liney and we had soo much fun working togheder!. The member of the staff were all really cool people and really nice energy to be there . The location of the hostel is perfect in the middle of the center , the room are nice and the rooftop is really nice too , there is a swimming pool and a bar to chill and evryrhing has been great ! The organisation could be better but has been all positive experience !

República Hostels Volunteers is something that you need to try inside Worldpackers. Jhoan have a excellent personality. He's a good volunteering manager.He makes you your stay pleasant inside the volunteering. Cartagena Colombia is an amazing place than you need to be if you are traveler.My volunteers team inside República Hostels Cartagena are real friends. All are happy with experience. Fuimos muy bien recibidos, las instalaciones y la habitación para voluntarios son cómodas. En todo momento recibimos un muy buen trato por parte de todo el equipo y Jhoan, además este ultimo ha sido en todo momento flexible, abierto al diálogo, comunicativo y empatico. Recomendamos la experiencia, que realmente sentimos que ha sido un voluntariado donde cumplimos el rol de colaboradores y no empleados. Muchas gracias a todo el equipo del hostel. Nuestra experiencia en el hostel fue maravillosa . Fue una estadía hermosa. Johan el coordinador es una persona buena, alegre y predispuesta a escuchar las sugerencias o malestares de los viajeros; tiene una energía muy linda. El personal que lleva adelante rebuplica hostel (Recepción, mantenimiento, limpieza, desayunos, bar) son excelentes, atentos, buena gente. Nos llevamos muchos recuerdos lindos y estamos agradecidos de todo lo brindado. recomendamos el hostel💫

We had a great time at the hostel! The hostel is a beautiful building, has a nice bar and swimming pool and it's super well located. We met wonderful people from Cartagena who works there, and also many foreign people too. The work is distributed between the volunteers who can help during the breakfast, at reception, with activities or at the bar. It takes 4-5h usually, 6 times a week. We stayed in the volunteers room which is a 8 beds dorm. Thanks, guys!! All the best ;)

No início da minha experiência no hostel, tudo foi excelente. O hostel tem uma excelente localização e também Fui muito bem recebido pela equipe, especialmente pela recepção e pelas mulheres da limpeza. Porém, o ponto crítico foi o episódio de assédio que ocorreu com minhas companheiras de voluntariado, transformando o sonho em pesadelo. Infelizmente, o assediador não sofreu punição enquanto eu estive lá, e todas nós nos sentimos acoados e desconfortáveis, o que me levou a deixar o voluntariado com 10 dias de antecedência, devido à falta de ação do hostel e por problenas de saúde mental.

My time at the hostel was great. Everyone is so welcoming and I immediately felt like part of a family. I had a lot of fun. However, we had a problem with one of the bartenders from the hostel, who harassed and constantly made inappropriate comments to myself and the other volunteers. All 5 of the volunteers talked to the manager about it. We thought we were listened to, but he was never fired. As soon as we found out the man would still be working there, we all quit. This man should not be allowed to work with female volunteers due to how disgusting it was. the hostel does not seem to care

O voluntariado na República foi um dos mais legais que já tive, porque fui muito bem tratada e o trabalho era tranquilo. Mas infelizmente eu e as outras meninas também voluntárias tivemos um CADO DE ASSÉDIO dentro do hostel e eu como mulher preciso basear minha avaliação nisso. Falamos com o gerente que se demonstrou preocupado, mas após duas semanas o homem continuava alí entre nós impune. Aqui não vou ter muito espaço para escrever, mas espero a resposta do hostel para que eu responda com informações completas
