Programmdetails

The Volunteer designed to strengthen community resilience and self-reliance through skills transfer, mentorship, and practical learning. Under this program, qualified volunteers are engaged to support capacity-building activities in permaculture and sustainable agriculture for refugees and host community members.

Volunteers are assigned specific roles based on their expertise and the needs of the program. The Permaculture/Agriculture Volunteer Instructor works closely with YEDA staff to design and deliver practical and theoretical training sessions focusing on climate-smart agriculture, soil conservation, water management, organic farming techniques, and sustainable food production.

The program emphasizes hands-on learning through demonstration plots, group training sessions, and community-based practice. Volunteers provide mentorship, technical guidance, and continuous support to participants, ensuring skills gained can be applied independently for household food security and income generation.

YEDA provides overall coordination, training facilities where available, community mobilization, and monitoring of activities. Volunteers are expected to adhere to organizational policies, safeguarding standards, and local regulations while maintaining professionalism, cultural sensitivity, and respect for the community.

The program includes regular supervision, progress reporting, and evaluation to ensure objectives are met and outcomes are sustainable. Through this structured approach, the Volunteer Program promotes knowledge exchange, empowerment, and long-term positive impact within the community.
