Kitchen Hand, Cleaning, Reception, and Housekeeping

Almir was an absolute gem! From day one, he fit right into the team and gave 100% in everything — cleaning rooms, changing beds, doing dishes at the café, helping in the kitchen — all done with responsibility and a great attitude. He was also awesome with our guests — super friendly, polite, and always knew how to connect with people. And on top of that, he shot some really cool photo and video content that totally captured the vibe of our place! Big thanks to you, Almir, for your work, your energy, and just for being here with us! You’re always welcome back!

The hostel blew me away! The facilities are amazing — cozy rooms, clean bathrooms, great kitchen, café, and chill common areas. The work is super light: you're just supporting staff who handle cleaning and the café. I helped with sandwiches, coffee, dishes, beds — and even created content for their social media. You have full freedom to contribute how you like. The team is lovely, the vibe is so welcoming, and Minsk is a beautiful city. The location is perfect — right in the center, by the river. Also, most people speak English and communication is easy. 10/10 experience all around!

About me as an author

Hi, my name is Almir Junior and I'm a Brazilian guy who has been trying to be more out than inside the box. I believe that sharing a house, a meal, a moment or a laugh makes us closer as humans beings and that's pretty much what we need! Background

Education

From a young age, I have been driven by a strong desire to learn and grow. I have been an entrepreneur since early on, having founded and managed my own company even before starting my travels. Throughout my journey, I have gained practical and theoretical knowledge, especially in business, digital marketing, and content creation — skills that are essential for thriving in the digital world. Additionally, I continuously study languages to better communicate within the cultures I live in, currently focusing on improving my Russian for deeper integration.

Work experience

I am an entrepreneur and digital content creator, having founded my own company during my travels. My professional background is diverse, covering business management, digital marketing, content production, service provision, and online course sales. Before becoming a digital nomad, I gained experience in various industries, always focused on learning, innovating, and growing. This diverse skill set makes me adaptable, proactive, and capable of contributing effectively to any collaborative work environment.

Travel experience

I have been traveling the world since 2016, accumulating nearly a decade of authentic experiences across more than 40 countries. My travel style always prioritizes cultural immersion, using platforms like Couchsurfing, Worldpackers and engaging in volunteer work to truly live like a local rather than a tourist. Today, as a digital nomad, I travel with my wife and daughter, renting homes and apartments while working remotely. This lifestyle allows me to learn new languages and build deep connections with communities around the globe.

Other volunteer experiences

Over the years of traveling, I have participated in a wide range of volunteer experiences, both through Worldpackers and independently. I have taken on tasks such as reception, cleaning, organizing, content creation, and event support — always with enthusiasm to help and learn. Volunteering is a meaningful way for me to connect with people, contribute to local communities, and grow personally. These experiences have brought friendships, valuable lessons, and a broader perspective of the world, reinforcing my commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
