This experience was everything I could have asked for, for a first time worldpackers trip. Pedro and Sonja were so welcoming and I felt safe. I met people from over ten nationalities and made great friends, who I will stay in contact with for a long time! My friend who I initially came with fell very unwell, Pedro and Sonja were not in the country but still managed to help us, providing her a private room, checking in at the hospital and not asking her to work and understanding when she had to leave. At the guest house you will find friends, great experiences and kindness.

About me as an author

Tripswithjess

Hi! I am a 22 year old with a big dream - to visit 100 countries in my lifetime (I am currently on 20 countries!). I travel as much as I can and on a tight budget, whilst showing others how they can do the same.

Background

Education

Education
I graduated from Canterbury Christ Church University, in Psychology with Marketing. I am currently studying a Masters of Science in International Development with a side language course of French at the University of Bath. Alongside my degrees, I have qualifications in Global Diplomacy and Global Health with the University of London and SAOS.
I achieved A* in Psychology, B in History, B in Genetics, C in Biology at A level.

Work experience

I have a long list of work experience, having worked for the past year as a freelance marketing executive, social media is my thing! I have a hard working attitude and love to learn new skills. I have over four years of retail work experience, two years in artificial intelligence, two years in tutoring students and six years in hospitality ranging from a university tour guide, hairdressing assistant and to a supervisor in a busy restaurant. I have also worked in events and social media marketing for CCCU University and a restaurant.
Additionally, I worked throughout COVID-19 and began training as a vaccination volunteer for the NHS. From my work experience I am a well rounded, hard worker, who can easily adapt and learn new skills.

Travel experience

I am an experienced traveller having visited twenty-two countries to date, with plans to visit at least 100 by 30! They range from a three week language exchange in Tianjin University, China to visiting Egypt, Montenegro, Croatia and The USA. I have a love for understanding different cultures and the world around me, my favourite part of all is experiencing life off the beaten road, something I feel I will see more of with World Packers.
