Assist with conservation and community development in Bali.
A experiência
Our sanctuary is a haven for endangered birds and animals living in the forest on the slopes of Mt Batukaru in central Bali. It is home to leaf monkeys, macaques and many different types of birds.
Five nearby villages and nine farmers’ groups have joined the project, and introduced traditional regulations ensuring the safety of wildlife within this protected zone. It’s the first wildlife sanctuary in Bali established by private enterprise.

Detalhes
We are looking for passionate and proactive Worldpackers to join us at the Besikalung Wildlife Sanctuary. Your collaboration will directly support our conservation and eco-tourism initiatives. A key part of your role will be bird monitoring in the Besikalung temple area. You'll also participate in our Integrated Agriculture System and help local farmers in their daily activities, which may involve working in rice fields, so we suggest bringing boots. Every Friday, you'll join the POKDARWIS (tourism activist groups) to help build their confidence in interacting with foreigners. A core part of this is teaching English to group members and village staff, which aims to help them directly benefit from the eco-tourism we are developing.
Atividades & Turnos
Volunteers participate in a variety of activities throughout the week, with a focus on both conservation and community engagement. You'll have mornings dedicated to project tasks, leaving your afternoons free to explore.
