I loved my time in the home! Marie and Jamie are such nice people and I felt myself appreciated. The tasks were fun and there was a lot of variability so it never got boring!

Marie and Jamie were amazing hosts! While I didn't stay with them and their family, I did stay in the house I was working at in another English Village nearby. Marie and Jamie visited often to check in on how I was doing, help with any questions I had on my projects, and do some of their own work on the house/garden. I really did learn a lot while in Woodbury and now have much more of an appreciation for brickwork when I see it in my every day life. My main tasks focused on cleaning bricks of cement/old mortar and building new brick walls (Jamie taught me how to do it all!).

Jamie and Marie were lovely hosts. My partner and I were given varied work and we enjoyed spending time with their family. Every day was a bit different which we appreciated and the town of Churchinford is very nice (though small!) We would recommend this stay to all WorldPackers.

We had a great time working at Tumble Down. The work was very enjoyable, we learnt loads and everyday was something different. Jamie and Marie were very kind, understanding and flexible of working times.

Maria and Jamie were great hosts, the work was as expected and they were happy to let us tag along to the nearby towns on our days off. I would recommend this to traveler's who want a true rural experience :)

We had a great time at Tumble down. Marie and Jaime were welcoming into their home and were great fun. They were very easy to talk to and kept you informed about upcoming work. The work was as described. We did different things all the time and they were very flexible on weather dependent work. The sleeping arrangements were nice and private from anyone surrounding, there was a private bathroom and room with single bunk beds. And the surrounding nature was lovely to be immersed in during our stay.

My experience in Somerset was very nice, I was lucky to meet a very welcoming family and to be able to feel at home. I was also able to practice my english a lot and the place and its surroundings are beautiful… I didn't know that England was so green 😍 like I also did not know that I could connect so well with a family that was not mine on the other side of the world… I left the place very grateful and eager to return, they are my english family now🩷

This was my first experience with volunteering, and I loved it, it was very special for me to get to know a new culture and discover new things, Jamie and Marie's family were very patient with me and nice, they respected the schedules and provided everything what i needed, it's a good place to be, a bit away from the biggest cities, but if you want a quiet place and close to nature it's a good place to be, oh be prepared for hard work too.
