We are a snorkeling company running tours to Coiba National Park - a UNESCO World Heritage Site - with guests coming from all over the world. This week we saw orcas, dolphins, mantas, sharks, lots of turtles, and so many different kinds of fish. We are looking for volunteers to help us with our company to show this amazing place to our guests.

What Volunteers Will Do
As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to work in several key areas of the snorkeling agency, learning from industry professionals and gaining hands-on experience:
Assist with Guided Snorkeling Tours
Support experienced guides in ensuring the safety and enjoyment of tour participants.
Help with group management, especially with beginners or children.
Point out marine life and explain the ecological significance of various species and habitats.
Environmental Education and Outreach
Educate guests about marine conservation, sustainable practices, and the importance of protecting coral reefs and marine ecosystems.
Distribute eco-friendly information, such as tips on how to use reef-safe sunscreen and how to avoid harming delicate marine life.
Snorkeling Equipment Maintenance
Assist with cleaning, organizing, and maintaining high-quality snorkeling gear.
Help check the equipment for wear and tear, ensuring safety standards are met for all tours.
Guide guests in correctly fitting their gear and teach proper snorkeling techniques.
Marine Conservation Efforts
Participate in underwater clean-up initiatives and assist in the monitoring of marine ecosystems.
Help with environmental assessments or data collection to track marine biodiversity and coral health.
Assist in coral restoration projects or other sustainable marine activities.
Customer Service and Administration
Support the team with guest check-ins, booking confirmations, and ensuring all participants have signed necessary waivers.
Assist with preparing and handing out information packs and providing answers to guests’ questions about the local marine environment and conservation efforts.
Atividades & Turnos
Skills and Qualifications
We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds, but some skills and qualifications can enhance your experience and contributions:
Passion for the Ocean: A genuine interest in marine conservation, snorkeling, and environmental sustainability.
Basic Snorkeling Skills: If you’re not already a certified snorkeler, basic swimming and comfort in the water is ideal. Training can be provided for beginners.
Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to interact with guests, share knowledge, and engage with diverse groups of people.
Physical Fitness: Ability to participate in physical activities such as walking to snorkeling spots or assisting with equipment setup and maintenance.
Knowledge of Marine Life: Prior knowledge of marine biology or marine conservation is a bonus, but not required. Training and workshops will be provided.
Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a team and be proactive in supporting others.
Regras
✅ 1. Code of Conduct
Volunteers must act professionally, respectfully, and responsibly at all times.
Be courteous and helpful to guests, fellow volunteers, and staff.
Follow all instructions from supervisors and tour leaders.
Treat all marine life, guests, and the environment with respect.
No harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate behavior will be tolerated.
⏰ 2. Attendance and Punctuality
Be on time for all scheduled shifts, tours, meetings, and training sessions.
Notify the supervisor in advance if you are sick or unable to attend.
Repeated absences or lateness may result in removal from the program.
⚠️ 3. Safety Rules
Always follow safety briefings and protocols before entering the water.
Volunteers must know how to swim and be comfortable in open water.
Use snorkeling gear responsibly and ensure guests do the same.
Report any injuries, unsafe conditions, or emergencies immediately.
Volunteers are not permitted to lead guests into the water alone unless authorized.
🐠 4. Environmental Responsibility
Do not touch, step on, or remove coral, shells, or marine life.
Do not feed or chase marine animals.
Use only reef-safe sunscreen while volunteering.
Pick up any litter you see and encourage guests to do the same.
Promote conservation and eco-friendly practices with guests.
👕 5. Dress Code
Wear appropriate attire (e.g., agency T-shirt or uniform if provided).
Swimwear should be modest and appropriate for a public setting.
Closed-toe water shoes or sandals may be required for certain activities.
Keep a clean and presentable appearance when interacting with guests.
🔧 6. Equipment Use
Volunteers must care for all snorkeling and safety equipment.
Clean, organize, and properly store equipment after use.
Report any damaged or lost equipment
