The Stingless Beekeeping Volunteer Program in West Lombok invites you to work in a stunning mangrove area, where you’ll engage in sustainable beekeeping practices with stingless bees. Set amidst a rich and vibrant ecosystem, this program allows you to support local farmers by caring for bee colonies, learning about honey harvesting, and contributing to biodiversity conservation.

The mangrove environment plays a crucial role in supporting the health of the bee colonies, providing a unique setting for beekeeping. Volunteers will assist in daily activities like hive inspections, bee health management, and honey collection. Alongside this, you'll learn about the bees' importance in pollination, the vital role they play in the ecosystem, and the interconnection between beekeeping and mangrove conservation.

Experienced local farmers and beekeepers will guide you through the process, sharing knowledge about sustainable farming and traditional techniques. Your efforts will help improve the livelihoods of local communities, foster environmental awareness, and contribute to the preservation of both the mangrove habitat and the bees.

This immersive program is perfect for those interested in nature, conservation, and sustainable agriculture, with the added benefit of working in a unique mangrove ecosystem.

Stingless Bee Care: Assist in setting up and maintaining hives for stingless bee colonies.
Honey Harvesting: Participate in harvesting and processing honey, learning the process from hive to jar.
Pollination Education: Discover the ecological importance of stingless bees in pollination and agriculture.
Community Engagement: Work closely with local beekeepers to understand sustainable farming practices and support their livelihoods.

Shifts:
Morning Shift: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM (Bee Care & Honey Harvesting)
Afternoon Shift: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM (Pollination Education & Community Engagement)

Each shift includes breaks and the opportunity to interact with local farmers to learn about their beekeeping practices.


Regras

Punctuality: Arrive on time for your scheduled shift and notify in advance if you cannot attend.
Modesty: Wear suitable attire for farm activities, ensuring comfort and protection, especially from the bees.
Safety First: Follow all safety instructions provided by local beekeepers and always wear protective gear when handling bees.
Respect the Bees: Handle the bees and hives gently to avoid harm to the colonies.
No Smoking or Alcohol: Smoking and alcohol are prohibited on the farm.
Respect Local Culture: Be mindful of local traditions and interact with the community with kindness and respect.
Teamwork: Work cooperatively with fellow volunteers and local farmers, fostering a supportive environment.
Confidentiality: Maintain privacy regarding sensitive information about the community or farming practices.
