Detalhes
Are you someone who finds happiness in helping others? Do you enjoy spending time with children or simply wish to give back in a meaningful way while traveling? Then this opportunity might be exactly what you're looking for.
At Shiva Sadhana, we believe that small acts of kindness can create a big impact. We're based in the sacred city of Varanasi, where spirituality, culture, and human connection come together. As part of our community outreach, we run simple, heartfelt programs to help those in need — and we’d love for you to be a part of it.
One of the main things we do is teach basic English and life skills to local children who come from underprivileged backgrounds. These are beautiful, curious kids who are eager to learn but don’t always have access to proper schooling or resources. Even if you're not a professional teacher, your presence, time, and encouragement can mean the world to them. A few words, a fun game, or a creative lesson can open up their confidence and curiosity.
We also organize food distribution around the city for people in need — this includes the elderly, the homeless, and sometimes families going through difficult times. You'll join us as we prepare simple vegetarian meals and take them out into the streets of Varanasi, offering not just food, but care, dignity, and connection.
This volunteering role doesn’t require any special skills — all you need is a kind heart, a little patience, and the willingness to give your time. We promise you’ll get so much more in return — smiles, stories, and memories that stay with you for life.
Volunteers often say this experience is the most meaningful part of their journey in India. If you're someone who wants to do good, connect with people, and be part of something simple yet powerful,
Regras
No Alcohol or Drugs While Volunteering
Out of respect for the children and local community, we strictly do not allow drinking, smoking, or any kind of intoxication during working hours or while involved in community activities like teaching or food distribution.
Be Respectful and Kind
Many of the children and people we serve come from humble backgrounds. A kind word, patient attitude, and respectful behavior go a long way.
Dress Modestly
You’re in a spiritual and traditional city. Please wear clothing that covers shoulders and knees while volunteering, especially during public food service or when teaching kids.
Ask If You’re Unsure
We are here to help. If you're not sure about anything — what to teach, how to serve food, or how to behave in a situation — just ask us!
