At the Mother Love Cerebral Palsy Foundation (MLCPF), volunteers are an essential part of our mission to support children with cerebral palsy and other disabilities. Our program is structured to give volunteers meaningful roles while allowing cultural exchange and learning.
Atividades & Turnos
Roles and Activities:
Depending on your skills and interests, you may assist with:
• Physical and occupational therapy support (alongside our trained team)
• Teaching and play-based learning for children with developmental delays
• Community outreach to raise awareness about disability rights
• Administrative support like proposal writing, documentation, and planning
• Media & storytelling (photography, videography, social media content)
Regras
To ensure a respectful, safe, and effective environment for everyone, we ask all volunteers to follow these rules:
1. Respect the Children & Families:
Treat every child and parent with kindness, dignity, and patience. Many families face daily challenges—your empathy matters.
2. Confidentiality:
Respect the privacy of the children and their families. Do not share personal stories or photos without permission.
3. No Alcohol or Drugs:
Consumption of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited during working hours and in volunteer housing.
4. Punctuality & Commitment:
Be on time and committed to the hours agreed upon. Consistency is important for the children’s routine and progress.
5. Dress Modestly:
Wear modest and comfortable clothing, suitable for working with children and families in a respectful community setting.
6. Clean Living Space:
Keep your accommodation clean and respect shared spaces. You are part of a team!
7. Ask Before Photographing:
Always ask for permission before taking photos of children, staff, or community members.
8. Be Open to Learning:
Be humble, open-minded, and willing to learn about Tanzanian culture and the realities of working with people with disabilities.
9. No Romantic Relationships with Staff or Beneficiaries:
We maintain professional boundaries to protect everyone involved.
10. Stay Safe & Communicate:
Always let us know if you’re feeling unwell or have any concerns. We’re here to support you.
