A experiência

My name is Cordula, and I moved from Germany to Sweden in order to live a basic life close to nature. Here in in the middle of nature I live together with my older dog Edda, my young dog Alva (born in may 2024) and my cat Fini. I started to host volunteers in 2010 and I enjoy it! I need help with all tasks in and around my house as gardening, maintenance, reparations, renovations, preparing firewood and all other tasks which occur.

Detalhes

German/swedish/english. You need to be comfortable with sleepingtemperature 15-17 degrees. For people from southern countries it is too cold! Girls or couples. You need to love it to be far away from society and other people, otherwise you won´t enjoy the time on my place. Here it is quiet with a lot of nature. There are some lakes in the surrounding and a nature reserve. The next city with shops is about 12 km away.

My standard of living low. Since a few years I have electricity and I am happy about it because it makes life much easier. I cook on my kitchenstove and warm the house with kamins. I have an outhouse (as people had in former times outside the house) and an outdoorshower, but in my house there is a dry toilet and a hot shower. Internet exists (wifi). I have two friendly big dogs (Pyreneer).
There are two rooms where volunteers sleep: a room in a barn with a bed 140x200 and a one-room-guesthouse with a bed 120x200. Both accomodations have electricity.

I am working in my homeoffice, but not fulltime. I will try to work together with you, but I would like you to be ok with working by your own. In summer I use to have two or sometimes even three volunteers so you probably are not alone and can spend your free time together.

Normally we begin to work between 9:30/ 10 o´clock. But if you want to begin earlier, it is possible. We have lunch together and a snack at the afternoon. In the evening we will have our warm meal, and I hope you like to do the cooking sometimes. When you are hungry you can go and eat, on my place the kitchen is always open! I prefer vegetarian food.

There are some projects which has to be done, but I want you to choose tasks you are interested in doing, if it is possible. I want you to love helping and living on my place!

Atividades & Turnos

We will finish the greenhouse- project.
Gardening, harvesting and preserving vegetables, painting
Picking blueberries, raspberries and berries in the garden
Help with the home, cooking and cleaning
Help with my dogs
Help with my campervan which I want to rebuild.
I am on the way to minimalize and cleaning out and need help with that.
Taking away and cutting bushes in order to keep the property open.

All other tasks which occur

I live between Laxå and Finnerödja near the nature reserve Vargavidderna with a beautiful lake and an unique landscape . The nature reserve Tiveden is around 40 km away, the next lake with bathing place 2 km (you have to go through forest the last 700 m), the beach on Skagern about 15 km, and the nearest supermarket 12 km away. I have an old bicycle that you can borrow, but one wheel has to be repaired before (I dont know how to do).

Important: In this area there are no pubs or discos or something like this! This is a quiet area with a lot of nature! If you don´t have a car you can borrow an old bicycle (one wheel has to be repaired), but here there is only forest and lakes and nature!

Even if you come as a couple/ best friends it will happen that you will work by your own with different works. If you want to be together the whole time this is the wrong place for you!
