Laundry and Reception Help at Party Hostel!

All the volunteers at rhino party hostel were fun, lovely, sociable and like minded! The reception work was reasonable and the hours were always stuck to. The location was perfect to explore Lisbon and all the places around Lisbon as well. Sumeer and MJ made sure I knew what I was doing when I was volunteering. It's a great way to see Lisbon and meet amazing people!

It has an undeniably wonderful location. My experience was not very welcoming, in terms of interpersonal experience, I missed it. There's a lot of pressure to deliver the work in random ways they ask us, but could prepare a better infrastructure to host us, they put us in a room for 6 people, without supervision, no cleaning. I also think they need to think more about the experience for volunteers, and not just expect us to be workers. It has 4 floors, the reception is on the third floor and one of the things they want us to do for long hours is to be available to go up and down frequently...

Hi Danilo, you get out of the experience what you put into the experience.... as other volunteers who were there at the same time as you, had amazing experiences (just read the other reviews). We are very clear about what the tasks and functions of the position are before you accept to volunteer with us, unfortunately the first 3 weeks of your volunteer you were not committed to the tasks, and only in the last week did you show great improvement and also involvement with the rest of the team. YES - we have 4 floors, and YES - we love to help our guests with their luggage to deliver them a great experience with us!! We are also clear that the volunteer room (your private personal space) needs to be cleaned and organised by the volunteers (we dont touch or move personal belongings).

As you can see on our profile we have amazing reviews from other worldpackers including volunteers that were there at the same time as you.
Unfortunately, since we had multiple problems with you, and after many conversations to try to rectify the situation you still chose to provide negative experiences to our guests, we had no choice but to ask you to leave the volunteering early. Its unfortunate because we always had such amazing experiences wtih other volunteers.

I stayed in the hostel for about 3 weeks and the experience was very good. The location is perfect as it is very close to most places and well connected, which allow to explore the city easily. The staff was also a big highlight since they were all kind, friendly and willing to help. Tasks are easy and the hours are well organized and flexible. Also I was able to meet people from all over the world during my stance.

I had a great experience at Rhino party hostel. The hostel wasn't in high season, so it was a very chill experience without parties, but nothing that made the experience bad. The hours are respected, the work is easy, the accommodation is good and the location is 10/10. And not to mention the staff, which was certainly the best part of my experience because they were always so kind. Thank you Alex for the opportunity. I loved Portugal and I hope to come back one day.

The experience as volunteering was incredible! I managed to do connections with people from different parts of the world. I had the opportunity to train languages and really live like a local citizen. As I spent a long time (3 months) I realized that the place is always reinventing itself and updating itself. Alex was always very flexible and the location is also great. I don't recommend it for people who have mobility problems as they have to go up and down a lot of stairs during and outside of their work shift. Overall I had a great experience and I recommend this host.
