I stayed at this school with another volunteer, and we both decided to leave because the approach didn't align with our values. In my opinion, the focus on order and appearance left little room for creativity or freedom. Kids followed a strict, school-like routine too early and there was no clear plan for the lessons we were asked to lead. Although the school is well equipped, most materials were not accessible to the children (for example, the book area). Communication was limited, and after a difficult meeting with the director, we chose to leave. The children were lovely and eager to learn.

Hi Anna, thank you for your feedback. Our daycare uses a structured routine for early-childhood development, which many families and volunteers value. During your short Tues–Fri stay, you shared that things were going well; we understand you chose to leave after your friend’s dismissal. Creativity is welcomed within a safe, guided framework. We’ll keep improving communication and wish you the best.

Unfortunately, I was sick during that time and couldn't really help. But Nee always asked if I needed anything and took good care of me.

The school Nee was really helpful and open to new ideas. She needed help painting a wall so I spent half of my time with the kids and the other half painting. The kids are lovely but they are really young, so teaching them new English can be difficult, so we used to just give them activities about lessons they had learnt already. I had to leave earlier so only spent 1 week but it was the perfect amount of time since the city doesn't offer that many touristy places. It is perfect if you're looking to immerse in the local culture. :)
