If you love dogs and want to make a meaningful contribution, this is a great place to volunteer. the work at the shelter is short but quite intensive still, I enjoyed getting up every morning to help out. You have the afternoons free, so I often spent them exploring the town, going to the gym, or relaxing with the dogs at the house. I already miss them! 🐶❤️ I truly appreciate Inga and Renato for their kindness and the amazing work they do to help the animals.

Es nuestra primera experiencia en un refugio de perritos, la cual fue muy linda en todo momento, nuestra importancia por ayudar a los la organización de 4 patitas llenandolos con mucho cariño y amor. La mejor parte del voluntariado es sacarlos a pasear y verlos divertirse correr y jugar. Muchas gracias Inga y Renato por formar parte de su hermoso proyecto en el santuario y refugio de perritos. Muchas exitos para todos y que los perritos encuentren un nuevo hogar. ❤️

La organización en un hermoso proyecto de ayuda y cuidado a perritos que son abandonados. Como voluntarios colaboramos en alimentar, limpiar y sacar a pasear a los perritos del refugio. Es una labor llena de gratificación y amor, Inga y Renato han sido excelentes anfitriones. También hemos podido intercambiar experiencias con otros voluntarios y aprender junto a ellos las funciones del refugio y pasarla muy bien en la convivencia. Muchas gracias por todo! ♥️🙌🏻☀️🐶

Perfect for dog lovers!! We really enjoyed our stay here, Inga and Renato are great people who really care about you and the animals, they always went out of there to make us feel welcome. It rains a lot in Puyo so it can get very dirty and even though the shift is 4 hours it's quite tiring, but it is so rewarding knowing that you are making a difference to the amazing dogs. They also have more gorgeous dogs and cats where you stay. Puyo itself has lots to do, there are local communities and waterfalls and rivers nearby, you just need to da bit of research.

It was a really beautiful experience volunteering at the organization! It is hard work and you get your hands dirty but it is so worth it. The hours are not bad, only 3-4 a day, so after you have a lot of free time and you have 2 days off. During my time in Puyo I got to explore a lot of the jungle and nature surrounding the city which was incredible. Inga and Renato are great people to work with and very hard workers. I would recommend this opportunity to anyone who loves animals and wildlife and doesn't mind being covered in muddy paw prints:)

The work was physical but short and easy Feeding the dogs, cleaning up poop, taking them out for a walk and cooking food for the next day Once it turned out that they couldn't pick us up from the shelter so we returned by public transportation Each of the volunteers put a dollar for toilet paper fot the house Thank you to Michael for the close support, guidance, explanations and a lot of patience At the shelter and in the house This is an amazing place that Renato the veterinarian runs and rescues dogs from difficult situations and gives them a home I recommend it to dog lovers among us🐶

I had a great time looking after the dogs and cats! The shelter is in the rainforest so the weather changes quite often from rainy to sunny so be prepared to get your hands dirty! The role involved feeding the dogs, cleaning their cages, walking them, prepare their food, generally look out for them and make them as comfortable as you can with the resources you have. The hours were roughly 9am till 12:30pm each day meaning loads of time to yourself in the afternoon. I used my time to improve my Spanish by going to a local teacher. Excelente experiencia! Los anfitriones muy amables y atentos a todo detalle, los compañeros que me tocaron hicieron que la convivencia fuera muy linda, y el trabajo con los animales es todo lo que está bien, tanto en la casa como en el refugio, ya los extraño! 100% recomendable para todo aquel que quiera hacer un voluntariado ahí, les deseo lo mejor! 🙌🏽

La labor que realizan Inga y Renato en este refugio es realmente admirable. Son casi 60 perritos y casi 20 gatitos. Aquí se alimenta, se limpia, se pasea y, sobre todo, se ama. Hay perritos que llevan hasta 6 años esperando ser adoptados, pero aún así son felices, porque en este lugar encuentran un verdadero hogar. Inga es muy organizada, y como voluntarios seguimos sus indicaciones con respeto y mucho amor. Ven a colaborar, porque cada gesto cuenta. Y ellos te lo agradecerán con sus colitas moviéndose, sus saltos de alegría y todo el amor que tienen por dar.
