Detalhes
Please note that we are looking for poeple who can ideally stay at least 2 months.
There are 2 types of shifts.
We prefer if people can do usually both a day and night shift in a row.
Ideally 2-3 times per week.
Day Shift : from 11am to 8pm. ¥10000/shift
This encompasses the main duties of a receptionist (check-ins, emails, calls, simple administrative tasks). Some additional tasks may be performed depending on the days. You might sometimes be asked to help with bedmaking on busy days.
Night Shift : from 8pm to 11 am. ¥5000/shift
Mostly includes being available from 8pm to midnight for late check-ins and guest inquieries and a couple of smaller tasks (social media daily updates and a general guesthouse check around midnight before sleeping).
You can sleep in the private manager room when you are on night shift.
On days that you are not working, you can do some volunteering if you want to have a continuous free bed at the guesthouse (while keeping 2 days off per week). So one week could look like working a front desk manager shift for 2 days + 2 nights, and volunteering for 3 days to earn ¥28000 while having free accomodation the whole week.
If you don't want to do volunteering shifts, you can also pay the nights from the days you aren't working (¥2500/night) or stay in another place and use those days to go sightseeing!
For Japanese proficiency: the most important is to be abe to hold conversations, and do basic check-in/check-out tasks, and take care of occasional entering phone calls. Written skills aren't as important since it's ok to use translation softwares to a certain degree for emails and such.
But don't worry too much about your Japanese language skills. 90% of our guests are from overseas. It would be great if you could speak English, Spanish, etc
Atividades & Turnos
Our guesthouse is located in Asakusa, right in the center of Tokyo!
When your duties are taken care of, and while remaining available for guest requests, you are welcome to use the rest of your shift time to study or work on personal projects :)
We sometimes have little food parties and enjoy a relaxed and laid-back atmosphere. :)
